According to the good folks at DietPrescriptions.com, around 80% of people who have lost weight with phentermine will regain most of it back within the first year. One of their recommendations is that the dieter stay on a maintenance dose (forever?) of perhaps 30mgs every other day, or even every third day. Now, given the issue of tolerance I don't know if this is actually something that would actually work to maintain a constant desirable weight, or if this is a marketing scheme designed to keep their customers purchasing even a third of what they bought while they were losing weight. Let's face it, at the prices that online pharmacies charge it's still pretty profitable to convince someone to buy half or a third as much if they don't need to.

Having said that, I've mentioned before that I have a fair amount of trust in DietPrescriptions.com. And unless one's tolerance shoots through the roof, it really does sound reasonable to continue on a lower maintenance dose. I wonder if taking it maybe every third day would actually LOWER the tolerance?
