It is true that sometimes, especially when working out, you can't only dwell on the number on a scale.
Muscle is denser than fat, as you lose fat and replace it with muscle, your weight may not budge, but your body compostion will and you'll see changes in inches and the fit of your clothes.
Don't get stuck in the mind frame though of muscle weighs more than fat....that is like saying a ton of bricks weighs more than a ton of feathers, a ton is a ton. 5 lbs of muscle and 5 lbs of fat, same thing. The difference is how muscle takes up space on your body versus the way fat takes up space. Muscle has form whereas fat is just sloppy and clumpy. Keep that in mind and try someting to trick your body.
