Are you breaking a sweat at the end of your exercise sessions? Perhaps you need to up the level you exervise at. I go for a 25 minute run most mornings - I know I have worked my ass off if at the end of my run I feel:
a) ready to colapse
b) cannot hold a conversation due to heavy breathing
c) dripping sweat
d) have the euphoric rush where I have gone all lightheaded

I always do stretches at the end to cool down.

Sometimes when I really don't feel like going for a run, I will make myself go, but allow myself just a relaxed job, returning without the above results, but feeling better for it. I try to go hard at least 3 times a week.

Same with and weight/resistance training - try increasing the intensity or increasing the pace (do the reps in less time but with same controlled movement) - so you are sweating by the end of your session.
