I think it's a personal choice, and you really don't know until you've tried them yourself. The doses are stronger with higher mg's, but some people like to take lower doses because of the side effects. I personally take the strongest, 37.5, and have never had a problem with them, but some people get dry mouth, increased heart rate, etc. I took them before, several years ago, for about 3 months and lost 50 pounds-but the results are different for everybody, and probably won't be as dramatic for me this time around either. I think the capsules are the time released form of the drug, which I'm assuming would mean that the effects are more subtle and last throughout the day, instead of peaking like the tablets do. I say "assume" because I've only taken one type, so I can't really say much about the rest.
I don't think it's a matter of "which ones work best"....phentermine is phentermine. It will either work for you or it won't.
It has more to do with getting the most efficient dosage without having intolerable side effects.
