40momof2 Thanks. I do watch how I feel. Stopped the Phen for a few days, as I felt I was going to crash with a cold because of lack of sleep. No caffeine while on Phen!!! Common sense some time goes out the window when you smell the Gingerbread Latte at Borders.
As far as weight results....I've only lost 2 pounds. But, I've not been strict on the eating sensible part.
But, yes, when we set our minds to it, we can do this!
Next step - Set my mind to it.

frenchgirl Ah, that's tough. I know how it it to succeed and then have it all slowly come back. I suppose stress on the body can affect hair and skin. I know when I stress, even w/o any meds, I lose hair.
Unfortunately, Phen makes me more susceptible to colds from a lower immune responce. Even at 18.75mgs I feel a strong effect. Which means, I have to eat balanced every 2 hours and take vitamins religiously. Kimness makes some good points, perhaps a different weight control.
cmomof2kids Your comments make me think of my own experiences. I like your no nonsense/kicka$$ approach. Makes me take a good hard look at what I can do to get my life on track.

I've been on diets most of my life. In hindsight and struggles to face a harsh self-awareness, I realize I am an emotional eater driven by low self- esteem and lack of confidence. I can see the mechanics of putting on weight in my own eating pattern. Never more clear than in the last 6 months. Facing a difficult life event, being in a crisis mode that didn't quit, was the ultimate trigger for revealing my eating pattern. In the last 6 months I put on 25-30 pounds.
This has been a life long issue with me. Therapy helps, but ultimately, one has to make the effort to change the things you know are harming you, spirtually and physically.

So, this year, in January I started Phen to help me get control back. I have 40-45 pounds to drop. Phen is a tool I want to be careful useing and at the same time implement the good knowledge of nutrition that I know. My key factors is to rope in a trainer for my back, my doctor to moniter my progress and apply specific therapy for my lower back, and to do this with support.

Just writing this and reading the responces has put me in a positive mood. And am getting excited to start to define my plan for success.
