If you work out efficiently and keep a slight caloric deficit, you can actually lose an extra pound a week.. Some tips:
1. Eat more often, but don't increase your total calories. It helps to control your blood sugar and appetite. Include a protein source each time..
2. Break up your workout. Instead of 20 minutes at night, exercise 10 morning and 10 at night. Be patient. I bet you see results within a couple weeks!
3. Eat breakfast. Food calories are heat, which can rev your metabolism.
4. Zig-Zag calories. For 2 days, consume your minimum calorie requirement based on your height, weight and then for 2 days, increase your calories by an additional 100(nutritious foods only).
5. Drinks lots of water. Our bodies are made up of 80% water. If you limit your water intake, the body will retain water. Drink 0.55 times your body weight in ounces of water per day..
6. Exercise in the morning to boost metabolism.
7. Do some interval training which means to do short bursts of high-intensity exercise and moderate intensity, too, within the same workout.. Your body will be forced to burn more calories, even if only 30 second/30 second bursts.
8. Read instead of TV. Researchers found the metabolic rates dropped by up to 16%when we watch the tube! YIKES! We burn fewer calories watching TV than just about anything. Move during commercials; it really adds up.
9. Drink green tea for its healthy anti-oxidants and its help in weight loss. Make sure the label says that the green tea used is standardized for caffeine and EGCG.
10. Practice drinking your water first thing in the morning by downing 16 ounces of very cold water on an empty stomach when you take your medicine. Don't eat breakfast for at least 30-45 minutes.
A few of these ideas and you will be jump-started again.
