30 pounds in 8 weeks is 3.75 pounds a week average...

Healthy weight loss is 1 -2 pounds a week. It stands to reason that by losing at the rate you have been losing, you're body would have to take a break to adjust to it's new number at some point. 2 weeks without a loss is not a plateau... no, I understand it isn't fun, it isn't what we want to see but it's not a plateau and it's 100% normal.

Have you been taking your measurements? The stupid evil box is just one way to track your success. The tape measure is another. We all have times where the evil box seems to not be cooperating... during those times, you need to check the tape measure to see your real progress.

If I were to look back over the last 40 weeks of my weight loss journey, I'm sure 1/3 of those weeks either did not record a loss or possibly showed a gain instead. What we have to remember is that our bodies are doing everything it can to maintain our weight. Some weeks we win, some weeks it wins but the bottom line is that if we are consistent in our efforts... we will ultimately prevail!!

My suggestion is to take your measurements, revel in your successes for the last 8 weeks, click a progress picture and smile! You are winning the war!!

Oh and btw, there are many other reasons you may not be showing a loss... building muscle from strength training, TOM, sodium intake... but they are pretty boring and not something I felt like typing about this morning.

Keep your chin up!!
