It takes at least 1,000 calories just to fuel your normal body processes. 1,200 sounds good, but it cuts out anby wasted calories--cake, cookie, white rice---that sort of thing. It forces us to weigh and measure foods.

Strive to do this, daily, and don't forget to plan TODAY what you will eat tomorrow:
3, 1/2 c. servings of different fat free dairy
3, 1/4 c servings different whole grains
6, 1/2 c. servings different vegetables, no butter, no sauces
3, 1/2 c servings different berries
2,1/4 c servings different meats, poultry, fish
2, 1/8 c servings different nuts.
DAILY DRINK 60-100 OUNCES
WATER
