O.K. first of all I DID NOT do it. I already have an appointment to go to a REAL doctor on Aug 15. Seems so long to wait so I got to looking in the phone book in Dallas. I came across this place called absolutely thin. And the name of the doctor is Dr. Branch. They had a website so I thought I would check it out to see how far they were from me and what they were all about. Seems I could fill out a form, They sent me a password and I registered. Well then they wanted Payment by credit card and my prescription would be sent along with where to pick it up or have it delivered. I NEVER talked to anyone. I of course DID NOT DO IT. I picked up the phone and called the number to find out WHY I did not have to come in for an appointment and be checked out. If I had not called he would have just looked over what I put on my form and called in my prescription. So he said!! Soooo I put the address in to where this office is suppost to be, and is listed on the internet, and in the phone book. It shows it is NOT at that address.

So.....Just goes to show ME and hopefully others out there. WAIT if you have to. Dont' get scammed. I don't know if he is really a legit doctor or not. If he is he obviously doesn't care about his patients if he is willing to give it out without seeing them. But I'm not going to give out my info and not even talk to ANYONE. And even when I talk to him he ask me did I FEEL I was in good Health.

Just thought I would share this little bit of info. I feel really stupid now for being in such a big hurry to get the ball rolling, But after seeing JUST HOW EASY it is to get possibly scammed is worth waiting for me.

Actually he Dr Branch has posted on here from what I saw in the past under a post that someone wrote in on NOT being able to get their phen. He was listed as R.E.

I could be wrong and it could all be O.K. with him. But made me VERY UNEASY!!! And he wasn't very informative on the phone. Told me to just FOLLOW THE EMAILS THAT WOULD BE SENT and SUBMITT PAYMENT!!!

Not me!!!!!!! LOL I'll wait it out!

HI
Glad that you did detective work before you dove in. The internet turned into a power house of scammers. Guess it can only get worse.
Glad you go to the Doctor

You know, something about this doesn't really sound like a scam - unethical, maybe but not a scam. Have you thought of calling the Better Business Bureau?

I checked out that website......the thing is, he doesn't actually dispense the meds. He charges $75 to review your provided medical questionaire, and write you a prescription of his choice of type/dosage. You (supposedly) then get to go to your local pharmacy and pick them up (and pay for them there).
I wasn't able to find any reviews about him from people who have used this, and if you click on the links to the weblog, there's nothing there. All of the other links lead to more stuff he's trying to sell, like a nutrisystem type food program called the Dallas Diet.
I don't know-if it actually works, this is about the same you would pay for an in person doctor visit.....but dang you'd atleast want to be able to speak with them and know what you're getting before you pay......and how can they take your payment info without knowing you would even qualify for the medication?

Well I did talk to him with the number provided, he kept asking me DID YOU GET THE EMAIL. And to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS in the email. And to pay the $75 fee and another email would come telling me when I could get my medications. Almost like yelling at me for calling him. I did ask him WHY I didn't have to come in the office for a visit. He ask if I thought I was in good health and that he would review my medical questionaire and would somehow check my medical background, even though on the questionaire it NEVER asked for any other physicians I had used, and send my prescription to a pharmacey of HIS choice. Which he did tell me the name of (Allen Pharmacies) . And either i could go pick it up or have the pharmacy mail it to me. I don't understand how they could anyway since I thought you would have to atleast show some sort of identification since this is a controlled substance.

I also yesterday found a direct email address to him, Atleast it says it was. And I wasn't going to pursue this any further but my curiosity was killing me about this, and how he could actually do this. So I emailed him wanted to ask a few more questions as to how he knew I was going to be able to take phentermine. Why he could not have it sent to a pharmacy of MY choice. And that I noticed there were other drug medications offered and that I did not want to commit to paying him $75 for his fee only to get a prescription I did not want. Also his fee DID NOT include the price of the medication you had to go get at the pharmacy. Which I know ANY doctors visit will not. But atleast you pay for a doctor VISIT! So I will see if I get an email back from him and let you know what he says.

Thing that gets me is this guy is in the telephone book. Has a web site and all. I TRIED to find his office with NO luck. The address given is for something else. NOTHING WEIGHT LOSS related at all. NO Doctors office. How can he do this?

I may be paying alot more for getting my phen by the time it's all said and done. But atleast I know WHAT I'll be getting and that it's O.K. for me to be taking it. And I'll have a doctor that will care what's going on if I have any problems.

I'm glad you are pursuing another route. I thought from the way the website is worded that he just gave you a written prescription and you took it wherever you wanted......Sounds to me like he has something going on with a particular pharmacy-and that you'd end up getting screwed twice by that pharmacy charging an arm and a leg. Like you, I don't like the idea of not knowing up front about what medication you would get, the dosage, or even how much it will cost. It'd be a little better if you could take it to walmart or something-where you know it's cheaper.
I'm a little put off by the fact that I can't find anything on the net about this guy either. No prior patients talking about experience with him, no info on where he has practiced before this little clinic, NOTHING but an ad for this absolutely thin place.
On the first page of the registration, there are two phone numbers listed to call if you need assistance. One is all over the place, and it's the office where HE answers the phone. That's strange that he doesn't have a secretary or something. But the other number was a 212 area code I think-and I called it and it was a cell number that was answered "Hola", and when I asked if it was Dr Branch's office she had no idea what I was talking about.
Let us know what you get back from him.....when I googled his name, a hit for this site and thread came up. So that means other people looking into this will atleast be able to find something and see what your experience was-and know it's a scam before they waste their money

This is interesting.

I just read in todays paper about a doctor in Orlando pleading guilty to illegally writing prescriptions for steroids , male hormone replacement therapy, etc. She was in cahoots with a pharmacy. So she would write a script to a patient sight unseen for $25 and it would be filled by this one particular pharmacy. She's cooperating with the govt. by sharing info about the pharmacy which was also indicted. Could be a similar situation with Absolutely Thin.

You know, custom hrt ( hormone replacement therapy) where so many of this site's readers got their phen, could have been similar. There are a lot of guys out there desperate to take meds to save their balding heads, build muscles etc. and so many desperate folks trying to lose weight. Custom hrt and others had a huge market to tap into, just like these other folks. And customhrt was out of Florida, also.
