I so agree; it was always available through valid online pharmacies, like CVS or Rite Aid, IF your doctor sent them the prescription. Or, if you had an online service that your health plan used where you could get 3 months at a time of this or that.
The last I remembered was having to mail in the original paper prescription. For many drugs,' they' just won't do that anymore.

The olden days...ah, yes....I so agree that we do NOT need to feel guilty.
And... that was the same thing my doctor said to me..try to diet~ GEEZ!

Thanks for the compliment. My problem is that I have always exercised and simply cannot diet. Maybe it is my brain chemistry. The only thing that kept me on track was being on phentermine. Trust me, I used over the counter, ephedra, hoodia, even cold meds with that pseudonephrine, stackers, you name it. Being on phen helped me lose the weight, keep the weight off, and NO SIDE EFFECTS. I liked feeling a little 'speedy" because ususally I am a sleepy gal. I am so sad that the quasi legit online ordering sites were shut down. Too much govt interference, IMHO

Does that mean you(generalized, not anyone in particular) need Phen to stay smaller? I mean, I can see taking it for a couple of months to kick start the weight loss... retrain yourself how to eat(what, when, how much), etc... but for maintaining????

I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just curious.

I need it for maintaining. I guess I have a food addiction. When I am off the phen, no matter how good my intentions, no trick in the book works, and I have tried them all (exercise, pushing away from the table, eating a bunch of healthy food to fill up) My little "experiment" of being off phen shows me that I gain back the weight due to appetite.

Me, yapping again:
We need to be particularly careful not to use this as a maintenance drug. It doesn't mean you should feel guilty, especially with extenuating circumstances, but the habits we build into our lives just by rote behaviors tend to cement certain 'needs' into our brains.

To really change your life, lose the old lifestyle. Train your brain 'healthy' and you will be amazed how your tastes change. That is done through repetition of a behavior for 21 days. If you can stay ontrack 21 days, you can conquer the WORLD!!!
