Hey, I am new to the board but have been taking Phentermine (blue 30mg) on and off for about 3 months. When I began taking it, it really turned down my appetite and gave me a lot of energy. I lost about 10 lbs pretty easily. Lately, though, it doesnt seem to be having the same effect. Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do about it? Have I been taking it too long??? How long do most people continue to take Phentermine before taking a "break"? Any help or ideas would be appreciated -- I still need to lose more.

It had the same effect on me. In the beginning I was never hungry but my appetite slowly came back. Phen did continue to work for me, but the progress just kept slowing down. What I am doing is taking a little break from it and then getting back on. I figure this might jump-start my body again. If there was one side effect that I did not like after coming off of Phen it was the lack of energy!! I really loved that part of the effects.

I received the invitation to participate in this forum, and reluctantly agreed. I think I may have some good input since I have been taking Phentermine on and off for years. I must admit though that I am losing faith in the performance of this drug. I too, do not feel the noticable effects of decreased appetite and increased energy as I did in the "Honeymoon" stages. I had lost almost 40 pounds when I first started using the RX, regained it over time, relost, regained... Now I am wondering what to do, and leaning more toward not spending the money to refill.

After using phentermine for @ a year, and losing 10 lbs and basically keeping it off, i've noticed it definitely has lost the sort of effect it first had... with the energy and appetite suppression. so what i do is try others for a while. there is this 'ultimate fat burning' all natural one that i get at Fred Meyer ( i don't know if you have that store) but that seemed to work well with exercise.
Also, i recently ordered another all natural product with Hoodia, a plant extract from Africa with a natural appetite suppressant effect. I've only taken it this morning, but so far so good, and it is WAY cheaper, @ 12$ a botttle. you can search for it and order. Also, a friend took hydroxycut and that worked for her (with exercise).
i think the key may be mixing it up.

Hey! I started taking phen last year and I took it for about 4 1/2 months but what I noticed was that if I didnt take the pill at the same time everyday the effects were different, and also I tried taking them every other versus everyday. I noticed that you were taking the 30mg, Have you tried the 37.5 thats what my dr. prescribed, they are having the same effects so far, I notice they work better for me if I take them around 9:30-10am, Im usually hungry by the evening! Just one more thing, also I found that eating a light snack boost the effects for me too!!!

-Dont forget your water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(and caffeine allows you to become more tolerant)

Good Luck! and I hope I was able to help a little
