I mean, you'll hear a song on the radio and while the songwriter may mean one thing, you apply your own meaning. Example, I was listening to the song "Numb" by linkin park while working out one day and I thought of how it applied to me and my weight issue.

Here's the chorus
Quote:
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
and become so tired
So much more aware
I'm becoming this
All I want to do
Is be more like me
And be less like you
Now I visualized a thin me saying all that to a fat me. to me, it means i'm so tired of being the fat me, and I am becoming more aware of myself and what I can do to change things. I'm already working to becoming the thin me. and the last three lines say it all. I want to be more like the thin me and less like the fat me.

Another song is Rhianna's SOS song..
Quote:
S.O.S. please someone help me
It's not healthy for me to feel this way
Oh you are making this hard
You got me tossin' and turnin' and I can't sleep at night
again that's weight related.. I mean, it is unhealthy to be fat and I am not sleeping well. LOL

I told this to friends and family a while ago and my family thought I was crazy. Well, family already thinks I'm nuts so no news there. lol but my friends, some understood and some just totally didn't get it.

Do any of you do this? What are the songs that hold your own personal meaning? is it weight related?

I understand totally what you're saying, I personally dont have any songs that are weight related but every love song (good and bad) I relate it to me and my relationship, its almost like they wrote it for me personally, like Alicia Keys new song(she performed it on the vma's) Its like when Im going through changes someone makes the perfect song to fit what Im going through at that time......Your not crazy! you can think outside the box and thats good to do, and if that motivates you to become a better you, then thats......."All to the good" something we say here in Richmond, Va!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work you have come along way already!!!!!!!!

Yeah. It's the reason songs become hits.
It's the way everyone thinks when they listen to a song!

You are SO right! We can see the same movie, hear the same songs, read the same books, hear the same lectures and each one of us will have a different take.
