GREAT question... i have wondered the same thing. just bumping it up for more exposure. my Dr. is writing me a script one month at a time and having me come in to see her each month to check my blood pressure and monitor my progress/side effects to be sure it's a good fit for me. i'm only on day 2 but i like how it's working so far, so i hope it all works out and she lets me keep taking it until i reach my goal. i'm also wondering what all people tend to experience when going off of it...

WELCOME ABOARD MOJOAR

Some members I have read used it for the recommended length of time up to 3 months, I do believe. susan the moderator used it for 14 weeks and katie another member used it for 10 months. it all depends on how the Doctor views it. Also it depends on how long it takes to build a tolerance up.

Most dr.'s will only give you a 3 month supply anyways since that is the length of time most approve. Athough I've also read some Dr's allow 3 months on and then take a break for a month to continue prescribing. I suppose different strokes for different folks or Dr.'s in this case.lol

I've read weaning yourself off it is the best way to cut down on the withdrawl symptoms as to not shock the body and stop cold turkey.

I would suggest the last month your on them to go ahead and wean yourself off of them. Not everyone will have these reactions because we re all different and react differently to meications, side effects and withdrawl symptoms.

If you decide not to ween yourself then the withdrawls would be probably more intense feeling very lethargic like you can't get out of bed or function right the first few days and really moody, extra hungry and some have headaches, these are some of the symptoms I have read.

I'm sure you will get more answers soon.

Hope this helps and more ppl add to it.

I couldn't agree more, CC. Most find them so addictive that they assign the pills with love for losing their weight for them. It is extremely important to use every inch they give you to rebuild your body and your life-plan for healthy eating and fitness, from the ground up.

ALWAYS wean off and GET OFF. Great answer, Girlfriend.

my dr told me personally to do them for no more than 3 months, take a break & then if i wanted to i could start again..but, i do think it depends on what the dr tells you because everybody is different

I started in Jan and my doctor gave me a 30 pills which I was taking a 1/2 a pill everyday. When I weighed in with him in March he gave me a 90 day supply and now I take a whole pill. He said the FDA only approves you to be on the pill for 6 months.
