I have been on phentermine for almost a month. I read about all of these people who are losing weight like crazy and I have only lost 9 pounds - and I don't even know how accurate that is because I think I had a lot of water weight when I started. I have been watching what I eat and walking 4 miles almost everyday and sometimes adding Turbo Jam to that! Worst of all, I am starting to feel tired so I am thinking the phen is losing its effectiveness. I have always had weight issues and have been up and down for most of my life. My friends/family who know I am doing this say, 'you look great!'. I do NOT look great, how could I? Anyhow, just needed to vent - I do not have any overweight friends - they do not understand. Thank you!

On a side note - I cannot update or add any of my information - I get Error on Page - any ideas?

I don't know about the update errors...but as for the weight loss...9 pounds is GREAT! I know what you mean about being frustrated. I've been on phen since March 24th and have lost 15 pounds. Believe me - I'd love to be one of those people that have the weight melt off the way some of them do on here...but you're actually doing it at a healthy pace. 9 pounds a month is an average of 2.25 per week. Do you know how many people would KILL to lose that much in that time frame? You just need to keep plugging away at it and you'll see results. We all want instant gratification - believe me I am the first to admit this...but if you lose it at a nice slow pace, maybe you'll have a better chance of keeping it off.

I hope I've helped. I just know how you're feeling. I just want to be thin - NOW! But we'll get there...we just have to do it one day at a time.

Thank you! I know you are right I agree that if it comes off slower I am making more of a life change and will hopefully be able to keep it off.

I do always wish though, that I could go for a workout and come back and actually see it was working!

Thanks again...you did help!

What are you using as a goal weight loss per week or month?? 9 pounds in a month is actually a lot... water or not!

The key is to lose the weight in a healthy manner so it stays off. Sure, there are those that lose 20 pounds in a month on Phen... they also don't eat... don't exercise... don't relearn healthy eating habits. Watch those people, they'll also be the ones to gain in back in 6 months or maybe it'll take them a year. I don't know about you, but I want mine to stay off... forever! 1-2 pounds a week is healthy... Think about it, in 52 weeks at 2 pounds per week... that's 104 pounds! Or at 1 pound a week... that's 52 pounds! Not too bad!!

Another question to ask yourself is: okay, so Sally is losing 20 pounds in a month on Phen... did you gain at the same rate as Sally? Probably not. We're all different. Some can lose weight pretty quickly... others, not so fast.

My advise... Learn your body. You're not going to do that in a month. Track your weight weekly, measurements monthly. Some months you may lose 10 pounds but only lose 3 inches overall and others you may lose 1 pound for the month but 10 inches overall! Learn the way your body works, read every health type article you can get your hands on and most importantly... get friendly with the journey you have ahead of you, knowing that every ounce you lose is one step closer to your final goal!!

Listen to these folks, Hon. They are so right! I only lost 1/2 pound a week when I initially lost. Our body make-up has a lot to do with it, and it seems to stay off longer, too, so you will deal with that end of it much better than most!

There is such wonderful advice on here especially from ms.martini she's the pro round here. Slower is better and remember the mesurements are a beautiful thing to take and compare monthly too. Especially the months you have no weightloss.

9 lbs in a month is awesome btw !!!!!! Also someone further away from there goal, then you are, will of course lose more in a month, then you would. So don't worry you seem to be doing great in my eyes.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your advice. I was a little apprehensive about this forum at first but it is truly helpful! I haven't measured myself - but I am going to do that tonight!

Advice coming from others who are or have been in my predicament is so much more meaningful than when it is coming from someone who doesn't really understand.

Thanks again!

Glad we all could help. I agree too, it is so helpful to hear from the people on this site. We're all going through the same struggles and it's nice to get encouragement. I am the heaviest out of all my friends by a big amount and it's hard to take their encouragement or comments in the same way as I do the ones here, because they don't understand what it's like to struggle with their weight.

Just keep it up...we're all here for you!
