My girlfriends and I r talking about taking a trip 2 New York..None of have ever been, but we do know we want 2 stay close 2 walking distands of where all the GOOD spots r....I am thinking 5th Avenue.....2 those of ya'll who have been OR know anything that might help us in finding a place 2 stay (although we dont want 2 go brole, BUT we dont want a rat hole eithe.haha) we would b very greatful.....

I wish I knew...One thing it's nice to know is that travel agents are usually free. They get their fees from the companies they 'sell'.
Call the City Of Commerce and ask for some names of reputable ones in your area or New York's. Ask for their budget menu.

We ALMOST stayed once but the only available room was $1, 500.00 for ONE NIGHT.

How about Mexico we r also looking into that. We were looking at Puertoa Vallerta and Playa del Cameron....

I have no clue about Mexico I only can recommend places in NY and Louisiana other than them I am clueless
