My best friend of over 20 years passed away last week. She was 34. She found out she had Lukemia when she was 7 months pregnant. They delivered her son early and started her on radiation and chemo. She received a bone marrow transplant in December. It looked like she might turn the corner for good. The she got a bacteria infection called graft vs host. Within 5 days she was gone. She left behind two boys 5 and 10 months. This has been so difficult. I miss her so much. I know that she is better off than in all the pain she was in, but it's so not fair.

I am so sorry for your loss...I have no idea how you feel...but you and her family are in my prayers...hopefully you can stay close to her little ones to let them know there is someone else that loved their mommy and you are here for them. Take care and it will take time and prayer to get you through this trying time.

I am so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. That is SO sad. Maybe like what Spice said - you will be an important part of her sons' lives - like a beloved Auntie and that way you'll always have a part of her in her boys, and her sons will have someone who knew their mom "back in the day" to talk with about her. I wish you comfort and solace.

Thank you all so much and your right. I never thougth of the fact that I can provide them information that no one "on the outside" can provide. I can tell them all about the quirks and fun things we did together.
By the way, the baby was 6 weeks early but perfectly healthy today!!
