I have been reading a lot about hypnosis lately, and been seeing a lot of infomercials about some as well. What I am wondering is if any of these will help?
The reason I am even remotely interested is that at one point, I used hypnosis to help me quit smoking. It did work for a while, and I think that if I had possibly had some "touch up" work done, it probably would have done the trick to make me stop smoking, (I eventually went with Chantix and quit about 2 years ago) but I started back up after about 3 months off of smoking. My sister and brother-in-law also used the hypnosis to quit smoking and he has never smoked since, and I think she did, but stopped for I think a year before she started back.
The thing that really intrigues me about the ones I am seeing is the fact that it can be done at home. When I went to the one to quit smoking, it was a hotel conference room full of people hacking and sneezing and whatever else that made concentrating on what the guy was saying virtually impossible. About the time that I would start feeling and hearing what he was saying, the guy next to me would cough up a lung and totally wreck my relaxation moment! lol! So trying something like this in my own home on my own time sounds kind of nice after that experience.
So, I was wondering if anyone has tried this, and what your experience with it is? Did you have any luck at all? Is it a complete pile of hooey? I know that a lot of that infomercial stuff is a bunch of hooey, but I just didn't know about hypnosis...I mean, you can't fake hypnosis...can you?!?
Well, have a good day everyone! Looking forward to reading your opinions!
