I am wondering if anyone has any input on the Master Cleanse...or the lemonade diet. A friend of mine swears by it and I just don't know about it. I think Im doing ok on the phen. It's supposed to detox and cleanse your body. It looks like a painful 10 day gag fest! I dunno if its worth the cleanse or if its just another crash diet thats a waste of time...

Hi, Jenna. If you have had a baby or a regular colon check, you might be familiar with enemas to empty bowels. You lose the weight of the matter which is being moved along inside your intestinal tract, but as soon as you eat, the digestion process begins again and you will gain the weight of normal routine bowel function.

If a cup of water weighs a pound(no; it doesn't) and you weigh yourself before your marathon and again after you have sweated 1 cup, or 1 lb of water, you will appear to lose a pound. But drink a drink and your tissues will again absorb much needed water.

Many differ with me, but you can search colon cleansingon reputable health websites. Try Medscape: Free CME, Medical News, Full-text Journal Articles & More

Good idea, Susan...I know that colon cleansing is all the rage right now, and I'm not saying that there might not be quite a bit of benefits from it, but I do hesitate to try anything that would put your body through too much of a strain and out of it's normal schedule too much. If you are wanting to try something like that, try asking either your dr or pharmacist what they recommend, first. If you don't want to do that, at least go to one that is from a reputable company or has some good reviews.

I tried the slim quick cleanse and wasn't very happy with the results...it mostly just made me feel like I had to "go" all the time and pretty crampy.

So please be careful and arm yourself with knowledge first!!

Thanks for the info! I'm glad I asked! I just never know. The master cleanse is just way to extreme for me...it's nothing but fresh lemonade all day with cayenne pepper, ISH! I read a lot of info on it and I don't think it is something for me at all.

Before I started my phen I tried some acai berry cleanse thing, oddly enough it did nothing for me, just made me bloated, crampy and backed me up! I dunno how the heck that happened...but there was no cleansing at all lol! After a week I stopped taking it and my body seemed to go back to normal. It just wasn't worth it to me.

I also read on the master cleanse info, after drinking lemonade all day each night you "flush" were you drink sea salt water, and after 15 mins it says it flushes you out. I haven't looked up anything on natural laxitives, but I know I couldnt gag down a litter of salt water...icky poo poo!

EEEUUWW!
Just reading the thread to see how you're doing and had a brief remembrance of 30 years ago, went to the doctor because I was so constipated. I was a school teacher and he wanted me to have something quick acting.
At that time, one didn't take laxatives; one swallowed 2-4 ounces of castor oil. Motor oil-rancid-would have been more palatable. THAT was a master cleanse. I couldn't work for 3 days! YIKES!

i tried to do one day of this, i am hypoglycemic but i am sugar sensitive if my sugar goes over 120. so i may be borderline diabetic. well it shot my sugar up to 200 and made me spacey and lightheaded. so i got off it and threw the rest away. i hears alot of people lost a ton of weight doing this. but it wasnt for me. i do better with phentermine, though i still battle blood sugar drops, but since i have lost like 36lbs its gettting better.
