I've always wondered about this. I'm 5'3' weigh 264 (right now) and wear a size 22. My sister is the same height wears a size 26 and only weighs 240. I've been told it has to do with the amount of muscle mass/fat. Of course in some peoples case I'd say it is definitely a matter LYING!!!!

It depends on how you carry it,some people have less muscle tone.Or carry it in one spot more than others etc.I weigh 220lbs and wear a size 16 or sometimes 18.I carry my weight pretty evenly all over, accept a bit extra on my legs. This is probly how I can wear size 16 rather than22 or 24.The classic example is Kirsty Alley saying she only got up to 200lbs,but if you look at the photos of her before she lost weight. She was at least 280lbs or more!

I got down to 205 several years ago when I was extremely sick. I did no exercising, was ill and lost 45 pounds in like 3-4 months. Now that I am down to about 228 I am seeing how different my body is this time. I am losing places in much different places.

I must have lost a lot of muscle mass during the weight loss I had while sick and this time I am exercising and losing it the right way.

I am getting back into some of the clothes I could wear then, but they all fit me differently.

I know it sounds like an excuse sometimes when people say muscle weighs more than fat, etc. But it is really true. It really makes a huge difference in appearance.

Oh, and as for Kirstie Alley....I think she is a big F'ing liar. I know she is tall, but there is no way she was only 200. He A$$ was HUGE!

Her a$$ is still huge!!! I'm 5'1" and weigh 223 and I can wear mostly size 20. Some of it also has to do with the style of the pants that I wear. The low rise don't work for me because my lower abs and hips are big. But some things I can wear an 18. Everybody is different and they only make one style/size fits all kind of clothes. Just don't compare yourself to others, we will never figure it out and we will only drive ourselves crazy. Just compare yourself to what you used to look like and how good you are looking.

That's true because when I tell people I'm 290 they don't believe it. I have a lot of muscle mass and most of my weight is in my midsection. I can still wear a 18/20 as far as bottoms are concerned.

GOOD GOING, MSLAGUMBO!!!! Wow--just typing your name makes me hungry! I am so glad you have joined PhenForum! Everyone is glad to have you here. I wanted to say congratulations of your 2 and 1/2 pound loss. It takes me 5 weeks to lose that much and you have done it since September 22!!
Remembering a little wisdom I gained from 'Dear Abby', never be discouraged about your weight loss. It may take you 12 months or more to reach your goal, but how much will you weigh in 12 months if you DON'T diet now? Just keep on kicking, Baby! You are on your way to SHORE!
Please allow us to meet and greet you by starting your own journal under the 'Phentermine Support ' thread. You can find others there, too, that you can help!! Then you will have encouragement from 2 threads and we can learn from you, too!
Again, SO glad you joined us here!
