 Hi, thischick! What a great reply! :???: I had to search for it; I have had several reply notices come to my mailbox, and I cancelled them. Now I want most of them back and can't figure out how to do that. I checked the box that requests email notification, but they still don't come to my email box. :( Please forgive me in case I don't respond quickly~I have to check every post on every board to find others' responses to me.
I am VERY sedentary though I do isometrics daily. I had a severe bone infection years ago and have a titanium rod(one continuous, jointed piece) on my right pelvis, hip, femur, knee and lower leg prosthesis. I walk haltingly on crutches but am progressing to maybe walking with a cane one day. I am very hopeful, but that explains my inactivity. :???:
I have taken 37.5 phen continually since May 22. Still, the loss is slow, but I always eat good, healthy foods, maybe 1200 or 1300 calories a day, so I am not drastically limiting my foods. I am staying on board, though, for the long haul. I am hoping to lose 15 lbs. by the end of September, after my 54th birthday.
Congratulations on your 5 lb. loss!!! That is super! I have found I am not as hungry and also that the phen helps me to control my cravings better~I don't feel any of the extra energy or food repulsion I was so hoping to feel, but I am staying on this diet which has been VERY hard to do at all during the last several years.
Keep posting and let's all keep up with one another! I NEED this!!

Hey Lori!
So glad to see you back!!! I was getting quite worried!!! BTW, it was ME that had company, not Susan!!! Yes, it is hard to eat right when company is here, but my SIL eats healthy & exercises every day too, so that helped me out tremendously!!! I probably still lost weight while they were here. I weigh tomorrow morning for my weekly weigh-in. I gotta be good tonight! I've got to take my kids to a b-day party, so I gotta resist the cake (which is one of my favorites!). I really don't think it'll be too hard though...
My reactions from the Phentermine have been the following: I was on the 30mg for 13 days, & I always had the super dry mouth, TONS of energy, but my appetite was not COMPLETELY gone. I guess I am a lot like you. I was a HUGE junk food eater (but the only difference was, I didn't buy it!!!). I LOVE sweets! The Phentermines have taken away I'd say 1/2 of my appetite. Yes, I still get hungry too! They didn't just take my appetite away like it doesn't exist no more! No way! I still have an appetite. But I'm sorta like Susan...I feel like my cravings are gone, & I barely ever think about food anymore (used to be on my mind during EVERY SINGLE waking hour!). I don't get hunger pains hardly EVER at all!
Anyhoo...yesterday I started my 37.5mg pills, & I think they help take away even MORE of my hunger than the 30mg ones, but by evening time I am pretty hungry!!! Last night I could've ate the house! I guess the reason for this is b/c the 30mg ones are time-realeased, so the affects last longer. The 37.5mg ones are stronger, but they'll wear off faster. I'm not too sure yet what I'm gonna be happier with. I may alternate 30mg one day, 37.5mg the next...??? That might work. Also, on the 37.5mg ones, I don't feel NEAR as much of a dry mouth, but I DO feel more energy! Like I needed any more of that!!!

Anyhow, I thought of another possible name..."The FatNoMore Chicks". I dunno...kinda dumb... :?

BTW, I am 5'7" & 28 years old. Mother of 2 girls, ages 9 & 4. Been married for 10 years.

Hope to hear from ya soon!!!

Hey Susan, I just wanted to tell you that the way to get your email notificatons back is to go to your Profile page and mark the email me tab to yes...that should do it for you. Also at the bottom of each page, there is a link that says "watch this topic for replies" click those as well for the topic's you want to watch for.

Great idea. We just got a new neighbor seems to be an outgoing family so I am excited. I will have to start this. Did go to the doctor this week. Lost 14 pounds. YEA!! He did say my labs are all normal but my triclyrid? is a little high but nothing to worry about. Hope you all are having a great weekend.

Hey all!

How was everyones' day? I hope not as bad as mine! The Phen is going fine but today the power went out for about 5 hours in the sweltering Florida heat & the generator didn't kick in & supply power like it's supposed to. I'm vacationing at my mothers' & she's out for the day today & I couldn't reach her to tell her about the dilemma for hours. By that time my Phen thirst was at an all-time high due to sweating it out in her "pizza oven" of a house today! I was so stressed-out about what to do with the generator that I was sweating even more than the situation really called for. I've never been happier to see an electricity repairman in all my life! All's well now, but man I hope it doesn't happen again before I go home.

:o Sorry Joy, I wrote my post late last night & I was kinda typing with one eye open when I wrote it. I knew it was you who had the company the whole time. I'm just senile about names & stuff like that. :???:

Susan, I got to thinking about your post earlier today & I started doing some research on the internet. Here's a link you might find useful. It's for a PDF file you know Adobe Acrobat? Hopefully you have it in your computer so you can read it, if not Adobe is free to download. When you click the link don't think it's stuck or anything, the document is 26 pages long so it takes a bit to load. The document is called "Exercise for people with Disabilities: Getting started on your fitness plan". I looked it over briefly & it contains very helpful information & charts to plan out your success with physical fitness. I realize that you are having a hard time with the 15 pounds you need to lose but at your weight, it's possible that your body doesn't respond as well to dietary changes like you're at a plateau & more physical exercise would boost your fat-burning capacity. The document is really great at helping you to think through a fitness plan before you commit to something. I really liked that. In fact, I would advise any of you ladies looking for a great way to start a fitness plan to go over to the link & check it out. The disabilities paragraphs don't apply to everyone so you wouldn't need to print out every page, so you'd save some ink! The charts are an invaluable source of information for anyone who is looking to get seriously started on a fitness course. The link is:

http://www.rtcil.org/products/RTCIL%20publications/Health%20Issues/Exercise%20for%20People%20with%20Disabilities.pdf

Susan let me know what you think, I hope it's helpful to you. As an interesting coincidence, on page 22 of the document it lists magazine resources for people with disabilities & the magazine New Mobility is listed. That's the magazine my mom writes for; she's a paraplegic & if you've read the magazine her column is The Bent Spoke. If any other ladies go over to the site to check it out, let me know if you indeed find it useful, we should be able to share valuable internet resources with each other here.

As far as names go, you ladies are coming up with some great ones & I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring. How about "Chick Chat"? or "Chicks In Their Jammies"? I know I've got a chick-thing goin' on, what can I say?

Anywho, I am so grateful to the response to this topic & yes, we got room for a few more so come on aboard, all who's comin' aboard! When I came up with the idea it was because I just wanted a comfortable place to go where I wasn't reading through posts & trying to catch the tails of stuff from the outside-looking-in, know what I mean? I hope everyone who comes to this group sees it like a big slumber-party where you can relax, have a coffee, give someone (or yourself) a make-over all while getting helpful advice, info, & support from your friendly-neighbourhood chick friends.

Just to get this party started right, here's a funny thought for you ladies to start your day tomorrow. If you are ever attacked by PIRATES, & they want to steal your BOOTY, tell 'em to go ahead 'cause you're on Phen! AARGH!

I'm interested in joining. Do you have room for 1 more? I'm live in Florida with my husband and 15 year old son. I am 5'3" and 193 pounds. Started on Phen for 3 days back in May. I hurt my back and have been on narcotics ever since then. It's been rough with 3 emergency room visits for muscle spasms. I am fairly new to the area and would like a few weight loss buddies.

Hey ladies,

I think this here slumber party has room for one more? Two more, heck a whole shopping cart full of gals can still come on in here, so welcome Kiki.

We are still trying to come up with a name that defines us chicks as a group, so if you ever get any inspiration, feel free to post a suggestion. Sometime soon we are going to decide on a day to take votes on all the name suggestions posted since day one. We are crazy, we are wild, we are all pretty much new here & trying to outrun our fat.

Keep those name suggestions coming ladies & hope you all are doing well today. I know we have a few "lurkers" in this group & I want to say a big "GOOD MORNING TO Y'ALL!" we know you're here & we haven't forgotten about you, so get writing, even if it's just to post a thought for the day.............
