I think like in Nylon's circumstance when you have quit smoking, it is so much easier to gain and harder to keep it off. Me, I have never smoked or drank, I guess that is because I married a preachers son when I was 16, and no I was not pregnant, just in love. My Mom though, has through the years drank some and always smoked. She had a heart attack about 2yrs ago and quit smoking but has gained nearly 75lbs. She can't hardly walk into Wal-Mart or anything. She weighs right now 240lbs and says she can't exercise because of her back and legs. She has rheumatoid arthritis in them. I tell her I understand that but the weight issue does affect her arthritis but she won't listen. She cares but not enough to do anything about her weight. She si 61yrs old, a widow and loves to hit the local icre cream shop. Maybe she will reach a point where she says enough is enough. I sure hope so because we use to go everywheres together but not anymore because she tries to sabbotage my diet, getting my kids started to get ice cream or going to one of those all you can eat places .
