The following is a partial list of what is called negative calorie foods-which comes from the idea that the food uses more energy to digest than you get from eating it. I have no idea if this is true or not.
Some Negative Calorie Foods

Vegetables:
asparagus
beets
broccoli
cabbage (green)
carrots
cauliflower celery
chicory
chili peppers
cucumbers
endive
garlic lettuce
onions
papayas
spinach
turnip
zucchini

Fruits:
apples
cranberries
grapefruit
lemons mangos
oranges
pineapple raspberries
strawberries
tangerines

It seems that this is true. Plus it makes sense anyway considering
many vegetables like lettuce and celery are mostly composed of
water, but it takes energy (calories) to break the compounds such
as fiber down to absorbable substances.

I am so happy that you found this is true! I can see about the veggies--but the fruit is a surprise. I thought with the natural sugars it wouldnt be. Thanks for checking on this and thanks for the link. :grin:
