What's your midnight snack?

Did you know that it is helpful to make a snack that consists mostly of carbohydrate? When protein is included, your body produces dopamine,
which triggers mental alertness. That's definitely not good if you're in
the market for sleeping.

My tip is to avoid proteins when eating a small midnight snack. That way
you'll have less trouble sleeping, and won't have much trouble digesting it.

I am trying to avoid any and all night time eating! I suffer heartburn when I eat before bed. Water is my snack of choice!

I can definitely relate to you on that heartburn issue. I used to get that all
the time; especially before bed. It really is a bad experience.

Try to balance out your diet a bit more and it should go away before you
know it.

Fat in your diet can also contribute to heartburn, try cutting it as much as possible, if you already aren't.

I try to avoid late night eating too, but if it is necessary I like to have air popped popcorn with some 'Ican't believe It's not Butter' Spray.

Or if I am having a sweet tooth I have some sugar free Jolly Rancher candies.

I just dug out my old air popper last week--unfortunately we got lazy and had been buying the microwave kind but now I am saving the $ and the calories! My son balked at first saying it tasted funny but now he likes it. I think he just likes making a mess in the kitchen!

I make mine in the microwave. I put some kernels in a brown paper lunch bag and microwave them until the popping starts slowing down. It works great and is cheaper than the store kind packages.
