The June 14 issue of Family Circle has an interesting article about food that many think are healthy that really arent--granola for example is often loaded with sugars and fats. Many diet drinks people use for a meal replacement may contain more calories. Many of the low carb foods may contain high calories as well. Also many bottled drinks contain more than one serving per bottle so reading the nutrtion label is the only true way to make a good decision--dont let those clever marketing guys fool you!

Great tips cyn, many people don't realize these facts and then wonder why they aren't getting healthier or thinner.

Great information. Another one to add is Salad dressing. People need to be aware of how many calories and how much fat dressings can add.

Since my DH started using the fat free dressings, he can't stand the regular anymore.

cyn,
Don't you ever get bored with water? I drink so much of it in a day that sometimes I want something different.

I have been drinking decaf tea occassionally.

Subway can be tricky.

A 6 inch w/ whole wheat has about 300-400 cals, and as soon as you add cheese or mayo, there go the fat content.

2 really bad things also are French onion soup and Ceasar salads.

You have to be careful with each of these because they can have alot more calories and fat than you might realize.
