Years of eating junk food almost made me forget how great tasting fresh fruit is! It is amazing how you can get into the habit to grab something so bad for you-like a candy bar, chips, or some other unhealthy snack. I am going to challenge myself to replace this bad habit by grabbing some fruit the next time I need a snack.

That's a great goal, Cyn. I will always (maybe) remember that day when
I was snacking on carrots and strawberries, and I realized that I just
felt SO much better than before, when snacks included coke and doritos.
UGH the heartburn I got in those days! It was terrible. I couldn't sleep.

But now that my meals are more nutritious and balanced, I feel great
almost all the time, and I'm not looking back.

You are so right about the heartburn! I definately do much better with it when I steer clear of the no no's! Nothing worse than night time heartburn!

I get carried away when I have fresh fruit, I just can't stop eating it. I can kill a pound of Cherries in one sitting.

I don't do it anymore though because of all the sugar. :(

Yeah, but the sugar in grapes is better and healthier for you than that in a candy bar!

I clean the fruit after I get it at the grocery store so when I need a snack they are ready to go.

Strawberries
Granny Smith Apples
Grapes

I also buy some bags of frozen fruit and make a smoothie out of the fruit, FF vanilla yogurt, & a packet of splenda. They are really good for breakfast.

If you combine your fruit w/ protein, i.e Cottage Cheese, it wouldn't mess up your insulin level.
