This is the key to eating good food that is good for you. High response cost is making a meal of healthy foods and sitting down and acutally chewwing and swallowing which burns calories rather that eating a 7-11 burrito in two bites that has no or little nutrition at all. This can also be explained as making the choice between chewing apiece of gum which will last a long time or wolfing down handfulls of sunflower seed one right after the other without realizing how many you have had. Not that either one of these is actually good nutrtionally-but you get the point.
High yield nutrition is simple that--healthy foods--whole grain breads, fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats.

FOr me this is totally true. I barely drink pop anymore. I used to drink 3-5 cans of coke a day. I did not realize all the calories I was getting that were of no use to my body at all.

I gave up the soda for New years and have been on a big water kick since then  I tried crystal light-and it isnt bad but I caught myself drinking alot more than a serving and even though it is low calorie I am still better off with my water.

Yes, I had to give up drinking beer. That was the hardest of all. Got depressed about the weight gain and being busy with work and stress. Plus the family history of drinking. I just had to put my foot down and say enough is enough and I am ready to loose my weight and get healthy again.
