This key is surrounding yourself with support poeple. If your friends laugh when you say you are going to lose weight or make fun of your efforts-they arent being friends. Explain to your friends and family that you need their support and positivity during your wieghtloss journey and if they cant give you that than you must not be in contact with these people. I know it sounds extreme but if they dont support you --or worse yet sabbotage your efforts---you dont need them around. And a true friend will understand and be supportive.

I think we have a great support system right here!

But I know what you mean. I was afrais to talk to my doctor about diet pills for fear of him judging me. Lucky for me, he was just waiting for me to be ready to lose the weight. Now that I am dedicated to doing it, he is right there to help me.

None of use want to be judged by people we respect.

Often times people sabbotage our efforts without meaning to--I think some people dont realize how their words can effect someone. Even my hubby--I know he means well when he says I dont have to lose weight and I know he is trying to be nice but on my down days I can use his words as an excuse to quit--he doesnt want me to lose so now I can give up and blame him--I cant do that to me or him so when he says this I simply explain tht I understand what he is saying but I would appreciate words of encouragement and support instead.
