the best way to get "cut":
--free weights 3-4 days/week
--low-fat
diet (less than 20%, with saturated fats being less than 1/3 of that 20%)
--figure out your daily kcal needs, and divide that number by 4 or 5. Whatever number you come up with, use that as your calorie intake each time you eat (4 or 5 times a day). Apply the CHO, Protein, & fat ratio to that number. Example:
2000 calories per day
2000/5 = 400
5 small meals per day, at 400 calories each
400x55%= 220 calories CHO (stick to low-glycemic index but dont ignore fruits)
400x 25%=100 calories protein
400x 20%= 80 calories fat, with saturated fat limited to around 25 calories (if at all). Try to stick with mono-unsaturated fats.
This is pretty strict for most people. You dont have to follow it religiously to get cut; but you should try to follow it pretty closely. Your cardio is good but the emphasis should be mostly on free weights (NOT Nautilus machines or anything that involves pulleys). In the absence of free weights, nothing works like good old-fashioned hard labor (baling hay, running an industrial weedeater all day, hauling creek rock by hand, etc.) Keep in mind that if you work like that, you will need to eat more!
.........good luck!
