Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I am taking 30mg of Phen. My doctor prescribed it for me.

I have never been much of a breakfast eater, but since starting the Phen I cannot seem to eat much at all. Everything has a weirf taste too.

Would it be better if I ate an apple with some peanut butter or cheese? I won't be able to eat as much as you have listed. I want to try start eating 5 or 6 small meals. If I do this what should they consist of?

I am currently 239.4 pounds. I have a lot to lose and I am looking for something that I will be able to do for the rest of my life.

I average about 10 glasses of water a day. I don't drink much besides water and I carry it everywhere I go. I have always drank water, but the Phen is making me have dry mouth so I am drinking much more.

I also go for a half hour walk at least 5 days a week. I take the steps at work (always when I go down and half the time when I go upstairs). I park my car in a different paking lot at work so I have to walk some to get to my office.

I also started doing an aerobic video. I was doing it daily or twice daily but I stopped for about a month. I started it again this morning, because I can definately see a change in the tone of my body when I do it regularly.

I started my journey in January at 273 pounds. I had been ill for 4 or 5 years and had done no exercise at all. I gained 70 pounds during that time. I found out last year that my illness was misdiagnosed and after getting off the medication that had me on and taking B12 monthly... I am back to living a normal life.

I decided I wanted to get rid of the weight I gained during those years, plus I wanted to become healthier. After being misdiagnosed with a debilitaing illness for 5 years, I feel like I have a 2nd chance at life and I am not going to waste it being fat!

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Wow, you seem to be doing really well. When I lost the 12lbs, I did not worth out AT ALL. I would walk to the bus, or from bus to school and a few stairs, but that was it. Not much exercise. I will start, but I m considering quitting Phen, b/c it scares me. I thought it boost metabolism or something, because I can control my eating with body for life. Pills really scare me, and I had burning sensation w/ adipex since I have started, so I rather not risk it. I can't sleep either. This is what I would suggest.

I know someone who lost 50lbs in 4 months, with a bit of exercise and on this plan.

I also use www.fitday.com to keep track of how many calories I eat. You never want to eat less than 800 cals, because it slows down your metabolism. You should also, keep changing the number of calories to "trick" your metabolism.

I find w/ adipex liquid is easier to eat, than solids.

Breakfast

Skim Milk w/ Low Fat, Low Carb, Protein Mix

Snack

Prunes! I get very constipated, and prunes are supposed to help.

Lunch

Subway w/o cheese and mayo on a whole wheat bun or low carb wrap

Snack

Any fruit or anything you feel like having that is low fat i.e Low Fat popcorn

Dinner

A Baked Fish fillet, w/ a small side salad or the Breakfast shake again

Snack

A peach w/ low fat cottage cheese

Remember, it is very essential for you to eat enough. This is because, once you are off of Phen, you might gain back the weight, after you go back to your normal habits. You might have put your metabolism into starvation mode, so the calories it burns per day might go lower. It is very essential that on any diet, you eat lots of protein.

For example, with many diets, after a while you start burning off muscles. Muscles weight more than Fat. So on the scale, it shows great, but it is really slowing down your metabolism. Weight Training/Muscles boosts your metabolism. I would suggest, you start off lifting light weights, it helpts a lot. They ran tests, and the group that did Weight Training, lost the most fat %. Other grousp were pilates, aerobics/cardio.

You seem to be doing really well, and I wish you best of luck. Just don't give up. Also, scale isn't the only thing that matters. Just so you know, sometimes you lose inches w/o losing pounds. So it is better to measure yourself every week. Chest, Hips, Thights, Waists, Hands, cuz most likely you are losing those inches.

Check out this website: http://www.hussman.org/fitness/index.htm, he explains everything so damn well.

Also, check out http://www.bodyforlife.com/nutrition/guidelines.asp, go down the side menu, it gives u sample menus and a lot of other info.

I know this is a lot of info, but I really hope it helps.

Take Care.

It sounds like you're doing the things necessary to achieve what you want-just stick with it.

The only concern I have about consuming nuts when the goal is to lose weight is that nuts are extremely calorically dense. As an example, just by consuming a 1/4 of a cup of almonds is 190 calories and 19 grams of fat. I'm in no way advocating staying away from the good fats, you just have to be careful about the quantity of nuts you consume because the calories can add up quickly.

I don't know if you can spend any time with a nutritionist but they could lay you down an excellent program. I would like you to spend some time reading through these articles.

http://www.johnberardi.com/articles/...n/complete.htm
http://www.johnberardi.com/articles/...aneating_2.htm

Those will cover some of your questions and prob incite more.

I would really urge the oatmeal and apple for breakfast. You can boil eggs and take them for convenience. Protein shakes are pretty convenient to take with you. Vegetables can be easily prepared and put in tuperware. A couple ounces of nuts and sesame seed sticks make a nice a snack but I wouldn't exceed a 4 ounce combination of the two. FF cottage cheese makes an excellent snack or pre-sleep meal.

Thanks for all of the GREAT info. I will look at it. I saw that I forgot to post a link to where I have been posting my meals.

http://www.phenforum.com/challenge-a...ity-vt385.html

I will try to eat more often and a wider selection of veggies and protein. It is tough to eat when I am not hungry. But I can see it is very important. I had just always been taught to only eat when I was hungry. It is really about changing how I look at food.

Thanks again for the advice. Keep it coming! :-D
