Hey, is anyone on the board following the SB diet? Would you like to discuss it? Have any questions? Do you belong to the official web site?

Hey, Allheart! I'm actually starting a "NEW" thread! Whoopie!

Thanks for inspiring me! PDT_Love_13

I am considering maybe starting this diet. I have followed the Atkins diet for so long, that I don't think its working for me anymore. Of course I'm not as strict as I was before either, but anyway...I feel as though I need a change of pace but something I'm willing to stick with. Is the SB diet very similar to Atkins? I haven't done thorough research just yet so any tips will be appreciated.

Guys,
I am with you..
I have tried Atkins before, and I am not sure if it worked the best for me - I was taking Phentermine at that time.
To make the story short, I was so constupating and loterally sick of eggs and bacon that I could not do it any longer.
Trying to see if SB is the right diet for me.
One time on the radio dietitian stated that "from all the diets now days SB is the best." It talks about "good " and "bad" carbs and levels your sugar and glucemic index the best.
I am going my first day today, whoppy!
Well, I give it a try! I am 225, 5/8.
The goal is under 200 at first. I would like to see the scale to go under 200 for the first time in my life, smile.
Best wishes to you, guys.
N.

Hey there,

I've done South Beach since it hit the markets about 4 years ago. Even now I'm on a modified South Beach. I have belonged to the "official website" and all that. I feel the book is better than the site. The first time I did South Beach, I lost about 10 pounds in a month. My cravings went down and things generally felt better. This particular diet, I feel is one of the best. Simply because it's realistic after the first 2 weeks. (first two weeks no fruits or carbs) After the first 2 you slowly add back in the healthy stuff. It really retrains your habits. I love the egg and spinach quiche, the tuna salad (YUMMY x a million), and the laughing cow cheese on celery.

Let me know if anyone wants to talk SB!
Colleen

I like all the diets that cause us to buy groceries differently, cook and eat healthy foods that include all the food groups in moderation. Some that come to mind are The Zone, South Beach, Weight Watchers....
RATS! Pound cake is not a FOOD GROUP???
