I just started phentermine 5 days ago. Acording to the scales I have lost 7 lbs. I am excited but really wanting to learn about the nutritional aspect of dieting. I am not sure what foods are good foods, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to PhenForum Marna! I've listed alot of recipes in the Recipe Book section of the site. There are alot of good ideas there. Other members have posted a few too. Check it out!
As far as basic ideas, just healthy choices. Proteins of course are a must. They are great for you and provide lot's of energy Fresh Veggies are always great as well. Like I said though, if you need helpful ideas on stuff to fix so that baked chicken doesn't bore you to tears, check out the Recipe Book.
Welcome again, good luck and keep us all posted!

:p I agree with Amanda, Marna! Proteins to eat at every mini-meal, if you are eating 5-6 times a day, can be skim milk, skim milk cheese stick, fat free cottage cheese, peanut butter, almonds, fat free yogurt, chicken, fish, lean red meats, legumes-eating these insures your loss will not come from losing muscle tissue. In addition, it curbs your hunger pangs.
Have Romaine lettuce or spinach in your salads instead of iceberg, green beans, broccoli, brussel sprouts and asparagus are all very good for you(greens). Tomatoes, apples, all the colorful bell peppers, (reds), sweet potatoes, squashes of all kinds, carrots, oranges, (oranges)~ Make yourself a colorful diet. Try to only eat whole grains, no white flours or white potatoes.
 You can do this, Hon! CONGRATULATIONS on the 7 pounds!

There is so much variety of foods you can have, even if it means having salad iwth peppers and changing the colors of the peppers each day!
Variety is the key

I can recommend getting the book the 6 day body makeover by michael thurmond. I live by this diet, and it starts working right away. Its simple to follow and gives you all the vitiams and minerals your body needs. You will notice a difference in your hair, skin and nails.
I lost about 50 pounds on this diet. With phen it makes it so much easier to follow.

The book Dieting for Dummies is an excellent place to start.

It isn't a "diet" book, but it explains "about" dieting -- things we all need to know about calories, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins etc.

It also gives descriptions of what various weight loss "programs" are like -- Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and things like that.

The book is a general information source that will hlep you to make your own decisions about what works for you.

I have often read and beleive it's true that people who have lost weight and kept it off have done so on their own by educating themselves and making choices they can live with instead of having someone else (or a book) tell them what to eat or not eat. That may work for a while, but not for a lifetime.

Josienyc28,
I have that book. I am so addicted to heavy cream in my coffee, I can't get started! How do you find things to eat with no added fat? I also have his body makeover program. I'd love to hear from someone who has tried it.
