and men if you don't do this already

Here is a great and kind of funny article about the difference of men and women losing weight/dieting:

How to Lose Weight Like a Guy - Weight Loss on Yahoo! Health

This is the beginning: [Think the most infuriating thing a guy can say to you is, "Yeah, it does make your butt look big"? Wrong.

The one phrase that can turn any relationship into a nuclear winter is: "I need to drop 5 pounds—I'll cut out the beer."

And here is the ugly truth: One beerless Patriots game and your guy is back in his high school gym shorts. You could forgo beer forever and be about as close to getting into your high school gym shorts as you are to fitting into one of Barbie's dream gowns. It's not fair.]

I started my new pills on Jan 3rd and exercising 30-45 min; 5-6 days a week, walking; interval training with weights, ate around 1,000 calories, proteins & veggies mainly, did a colon cleanse (recommended by NP) and didn't lose any weight or inches in the month of January.

My husband cut out lunch while on the road 1 day a week (ONE DAY) and he lost 7 lbs - no pills no "dieting"; now he's 3 lbs to his "goal" , so I am a bummed this week.

I really thought that change would kick my weight loss back into gear and I would start losing again. GRRR I lost the bet and now I have to watch stinking football the rest of the season! glad it's only SB and whatever the other games are left.

That WAS a good one! I went on clicking and reading after finishing it and there are some great articles here; I really liked one on being a food addict! It gave wonderful tips to control eating patterns.

Life is so unfair!

I have read that if a man excercises 3,500 calories worht of effort, he will lose 3,500 calories (which equals one pound) worth of weight.

But if a woman is to lose 1 lb, she has to excersise 4,100 calories of effort.

Now I'm not 100% sure on those statistics, but it does seem in line with other things I've read.

And the sad thing is estrogen makes fat, then body fat creates more estrogen. It's the hormone estrogen that makes women more gentle, nurturing and peaceful. Both men and women have it, but women have tons more of it than men. But it explains why most male violent criminals are lean thin types, almost never overweight men. The overwieght men have more estrogen (generally speaking).
