Ask me anything about weight loss, phentramin, phentermine, other diet pills, diets, and more. I'll research the most popular questions and write articles about them for you.

Ok Ian...see if you can answer this for me (I’m sure you can). Once I start phentermine, I want to make sure that I’m eating enough food/consuming enough calories so that I don’t start losing muscle and that my weight loss is actually the fat that is going. I know much of that has to do with exercise, but I would like to know about how many calories a day I should be consuming (taking into account that I’m fairly sedentary during the week). I know once I start the phentermine, I will probably have to force myself to eat. (I tried one pill one time, and that was pretty much what I had to do for the day, so I’m sure the effects will be similar once I start full blown). I don’t want to over-eat when making myself eat, but I definitely don’t want to under-eat either. I’m at about 140 now. I tend to fluctuate between 138-142lbs currently. I would say for my first couple of weeks I would like to lose between 3-5lbs a week (does that sound unreasonable?). So what should my daily caloric intake be if that is my goal?

ASutterly, your caloric needs depend on many factors such as current weight, height, age, etc. I was going to try to calculate it for you, but I couldn't find your height anywhere. 3-5lbs a week is definitely doable, especially in the first couple weeks as water weight comes off fast. But don't be disappointed if you lose at a steady 1-3 pounds a week. That's the healthiest pace.

Here's a calculator you can use to determine caloric needs:
Calorie Calculator - Daily Caloric Needs

BTW, for Weight Loss Club members who are reading this, you can find your custom recommended daily caloric intake in the members area. It's automatically calculated when you fill in your stats!

I was looking online researching phentramin and I found a website selling it, but they were advertising as 37.5 mg. Is phentramin sold like this? I didn't think it was a (strength) for the lack of a better word. I love your site by the way.
Elise

Hi, Goaldie! I LOVE your name! Says a lot!
Were you looking at Phentramin or phentermine? Ian has said Phentramin is something different and I don't think it comes in those strengths. It is manufactured exclusively from Lazarus Labs and comes in only one strength as far as I understand.
Is that correct, Ian?

You're absolutely right, Susan... about the Phentramin and about her name. Goaldie, that's quite powerful! Anyway, either, the site you found was trying to trick you for some reason, or you might have the names confused.

Phentermine is a prescription medication that comes in 15mg, 30mg and 37.5mg dosages. It's blatantly illegal to buy it online without sending in a valid prescription, but many websites still try to sell it to ya for high prices and it's usually low quality and sometimes fake. Phentermine is really popular because of its big energy boost. It has this because it's chemically similar to amphetamines, and that's why it can be addictive for some people.

Phentramin is a non-prescription weight loss med that was made to replace the effects of Phentermine. It has about the same hunger suppression, and isn't as prone to losing its effect due to tolerance, but the energy boost it gives isn't as big as Phentermine.

WHEW now that I've written a book for ya, I'm going to go get my haircut I've promised you all for weeks. I'm going for something short. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of Sting, Brad Pitt's short style, Daniel Craig but not AS short, and I also liked David Beckham's medium length style.

BTW yes I DO I have a girlfriend. I just like clothes and style a bit. Don't let my picture mislead you. Let me know if you have any other questions, Goaldie!

I have a quicky question for ya Ian...is it true that you can get withdrawal symptoms from coming off the phentermine too quickly after being on it for such a long time..ie a year?
Thanks
