Yes, Ian is correct that ephedrine can cause heart attacks however any of the diet aids that boost metabolism also increase heart rate. Therefore when these products are abused they may have detremental effects. With that said, be sure to do your research when deciding upon using a diet aid/supplement. Ephedrine has gotten a bad name because like any other drug , it was used in excess and abused. To throw up a blanket answer of, "it causes heart attacks", and such is just bad form. The drug in itself doesnt cause heart attacks. irresponsible users/abusers caused them. Also the amount of Ephedrine in Ephedrinep57 is a mere 10mg. If you do research(like everyone should) the amount of ephedrine(more than 100mg) taken that caused a few people to die of heart attacks combined with the lack of water intake was staggering. The whole debate on ephedrine use when reviewed closely shows the consumers total disregard for the label warnings, drug interaction warnings and suggested dosage (min and max). In all these cases of loss of life due to ephidrine there was abuse ie overdosing, lack of water intake etc. So please dont be mislead by someone throwing out a blanket answer of, "it causes heart attacks" and "it's a bad, bad substance". These comment are only true when it is used irresponsibly and abused.
