I have a box for uncooked pasta. The Serving size says 2oz-but does that mean uncooked or cooked? There's a big difference...

For example...
Beware of velvita (sp?) shells and cheese. The box says the serving size is 2oz, but what they forget to tell you is that it is 2oz COOKED. So recently I made 2oz, which was actually 4oz and ate double the calories! Thats 600 calories! ahhh...

So...if anyone has an idea...let me know..thanks

I think it means dry, when I cook pasta I tend to allow a generous handful of dry pasta per person.

My suggestion here is unrealistic of course, but if you avoid pasta (especially stuff like shells and cheese) you'll lose weight faster. Pastas cause your body to store their carbs as fat more quickly than say, complex carbs like whole grain wheat bread, for example.

haha....yeah thats a big no way...lol

I know I should avoid it, but I eat it a lot, so if I deprived myself of it, I know I would just screw it up. I don't eat pasta a lot, but if I do it's always just the 2oz serving with RED tomato sauce.

thanks for the advice

The 2 ounce calorie number is for the product inside the container--dry.
