Sorry this is long...I have a tendancy to need to give ALL the details....

This weight loss plateau is driving me crazy! I had it happen 2 weeks ago due to hormones. Once I started my TOM I lost a few pounds. Now it's happened again for the last 6 days! I have been going up and down 1/2 pound and not budging! I have taken my measurements and they haven't changed in the past days either. I am eating between 1000-1200 calories (usually closer to 1000). I have been working out every other day (when I had something going on) or every day when not (I think 4 out of the last 6 days for approx 30 min). My water intake has been great. I've been waking up hungry, which, in the past always meant that I was losing weight. What can I do to get this going again?

I have my 1 month doctors appointment on Monday. I would really to be down in the 160's (168 or 169...just so it's in the 160's). I am currently 171.4-172 (that same half pound I've been fighting with). Should I just be working out more? More cardio?

I do have one good thing to report. I was at a friend's house and we were playing with our kids outside. I was racing the kids on the bikes and was able to keep up without passing out!! I can't tell you how long it's been since my body has felt so strong and I have felt like I can run (before kids, I can tell you that). I also noticed that the pants I can fit into now were pants that I was able to wear when I probably weighed at least 8 pounds less than I do now. So I really have changed my body shape somewhat. That's been a nice thing! Except all of this was true a week ago and I've stalled now!

Tell me what to do...or what you did when you had a frustrating week on the scale where you've been awesome otherwise!

Blessings,
Rene

Don't be so hard on yourself. You have already come down 10-11 pounds. Have you ever seen what that looks like. Picture 10 boxes of butter, thats a lot!! Leave the scale alone for awhile. You know you are feeling better, let that be your guide.

Hi, Rene! I loved reading about your bicycle riding! Really is invigorating, isn't it?
You might be surprised to hear I think you should eat at LEAST 1200 calories a day and possibly 1300. Your body may think it's starving and start holding onto calories for dear life in a survival instinctive way!
Shake up your workouts a bit, changing the frequency or the order you do them. And ALWAYS eat breakfast!
Please let us know how this helps....

When I was not loosing I would eat more and then it seemed that the weight would come off again. I have never figured out how eating more made me loose weight but I didn't complain (lol). And make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water!

Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it.

Susan: I'm going to try to do some cardio today and track everything I'm eating so I can ensure that my calories are in the 1200-1300 range then. And I ALWAYS eat breakfast (and yell at my Hubby because he doesn't!)

KScott: I'm going to try that and see if a few more calories kicstarts my metabolism. I drink 96+ ounces of water a day (love that HydraCoach!) so I KNOW it's not water weight! LOL

alikatz69: I always try to picture that butter. I knew someone who bought a pound of butter everytime she lost. When she opened her fridge, she always had a major reminder of what she had overcome so she didn't make wrong choices in tha fridge! I have so much to lose that I wouldn't have enough room in my fridge for butter and my regular food! LOL

Blessings,
Rene

Sorry I haven't been around. Things have been crazy around here lately!! I also was sick and that made it worse (everything piled up!).

Anyway, I started eating some more calories. I even felt like I was a little "out of control" almost (although I'm sure I was still doing well calorie-wise. ) and it restarted my weight loss. I am now down to 166...according to my doctor I am down 20 pounds. He was impressed but I had such a bad sinus infection and was so sick, I couldn't celebrate. LOL I haven't been taking the phen every day but I have been so busy that I haven't had to worry about thinking about food! (Well, except that I planned a bridal shower for a friend so I thought a lot about the menu! Hopefully things will slow down a little...my house could sure use it (my laundry is beyond pile to "mountain" status!). Due to being sick and then having all the meetings, I haven't been working out as much. I promised myself that I will today. Hopefully I will get to it soon since I'm now taking a breather.

My first goal was 20 pounds. Well, actually my first goal was to be less than my husband but then he went and lost some weight (while also not working out while I haven't been...he's a follower like that. If I work out, he will...if not, he's naturally muscular looking, thin and fit and so he won't work out.) so now I have 2 more pounds to be down to his weight, so that's my second mini goal. My major goal coming up is by June 15th (my 34th birthday) to be at 150. I hope it happens!

Blessings,
Rene
