I have struggled with weight since I stopped working out in 1990. I was really into the bulk up routine in high school for football and the girls. But when I burned out it has crept up on me. I am now 35 years old and blessed with 4 wonderful children and devoted wife and a great job. The children have always known dad to be heavyset. As time as went on I have been more and more displeased with my weight and energy levels. I have been planning this for sometime but have had to get my mind set for this undertaking. I have always been healthy with no sugar or blood pressure despite my heavy weight. The last 5 months my bp has started running alittle high. So Here go's...... I decided to go to Dr. for the weight loss. No more gimmicks or late night tv diet pills which all contain chromium picolanate.. LOL I went to DR. April 16 2007 didnt eat anything that morning. Dr perscribed 30 mg phentermine once a day until I could sleep without ambien then I could take 1 in morning 1 in the evening and chromium picolanate with every meal (3 times a day). I started out eating weight watchers smart ones at lunch and dinner the ones with the lowest fat preferred and I eat alot of peel and eat shrimp. and bagels with fat free cream cheese or fresh fruit for breakfast. Some yogurt and jello, quaker rice snacks, fruit by the basket load Subs fom subway with fat free chips 6 inch only. Crystal light and lots of water. If it says fat free or low fat I have it. Absollutely no sodas diet or zero. I miss my vault and rockstars though. My main thing is I eat sensible and very slow to not overstuff myself. I have cravings but everytime they almost get me I think back when I was talking to my children about losing the weight, my 9 year old said dad I always wondered what you would look like skinny. That is my incentive, I want to show her and myself that I can do this. The Dr. Said i was 312 and wanted me to lose to 187. MY goal is 218. He told me to eat less than 30 fat grams and under 2200 calories a day. My body requires over 3362 calories aday to maintain my weight. So I ate less than 1200 calories a day for the first 2 weeks and have gradually increased it daily to keep my body from going into starvation mode I am currently eating under 1600 calories a day so the weight loss has slowed a bit but I am throwing in a slim fast shake at one of my meals to boost it again. If I get unusual cravings I go drink a bottle of water and eat a orange or granola bar to ease them. My exercise is mostly what I get at work and doing yard work. I have to climb alot of stairs at my job and have been walking at breaks so not to hang out with the snack machine. I was wearing 44-30 and presently wearing my 40-30's also back into my 2x shirts. I cant wait to buy single x shirts.LOL I hope I havent bored all of you with this rambling on. But I hope this helps or inspires someone. If I can do this anyone can. My next goal is to start a exercise program and a lift some weights just for toning up. Thanks for the encouraging comments it helps keep me focused.. Sean in Tennessee
