I was watching a show last night and they were talking about people who had lost a lot of weight and were keeping it off - of course I was all ears! One lady had began to eat her meals in reverse. Meaning, in the mornings she ate dinner foods, a light lunch and snacks, and then at dinner had a breakfast type of meal. Her reasoning was that you consume more cals and such at night while eating dinner and then go to bed without burning off those calories. So if you eat that first thing in the morning you have more time to burn off what you eat plus extra energy. It makes sense to me, but I would like to hear other opinions. I am thinking of the issues it would bring up with my family. I can't see my husband eating heavy in the morning, and then coming home to a bowl of cereal!!!!

How do you all eat? Do you consume more calories during the day or the evening? Or equal amounts through the day? I've been trying to make sure I divide it up into 4 meals @ 300 cals per meal.

No one has responded to this post in 4 days? Hmm. Sounds like an interesting concept of eating. I've heard of stranger types of diets. For me, I need something I can stick with - a food plan I can try to be on forever. I want to be able to eat out, although right now, I'm doing too much of it, I think. Anyway, I'm glad it worked for her, but it wouldn't work for me.

I read that article a few months ago on yahoo or msn. Like Jared or a million other people, that system may work for them, but it would never work for me or my family.

I can't imagine my husband eating steak & potatoes at 6am or me having to cook a meal like that before he goes to work. Being outside in the heat and sun he would be sick and then stop doing it lol

Personally I am a grazer, I have always eaten small portions but 6-8 times a day. Each person/family is so different, I'm not sure we could all eat the same way

Last year when I started Phen, I skipped meals, ate very little and the most I lost in any week was 2 or 3 lbs.

With my dr's new plan this year, I make myself eat B - L - D and 2 snacks, evenly spaced out with almost the same calories/carbs/protein/fats. In the past month I have done this, I have lost 5.15 lbs per week and have not been tired or felt blah from the "eating plan".

I eat my carbs in the morning for breakfast, exercise and then eat lean meat and vegetables from lunch to dinner. It seems to be working pretty well.

I remember seeing a show very similiar to that ..it might have been the same lady (she was blond, I believe and spoke that her family had to get used to smelling fish /meat in the morning)...I think she used what worked for her...I have never thought that foods HAD to be eaten at "certain" times..I mean IHOP is jumping at 1:00 a.m. I do see her strategy...I believe that breakfast should be larger and then you should dwindle them down...but THEN again, that works for ME! If I worked a late shift or something, I could see the opposite...but again..whatever works, right?

I am with Woman on this. My hubby is a building contractor and I could just see him eating steak or chicken at 5:30 of a morning. For some it may work but for me I will stick with a bowl of cereal or toast.

While the concept seems logical but the reality of it is not i would think for most people. Besides what women in their right mind would want to cook a all out meal like that everyday in the AM... Not me that is for sure.

I have been counting calories which honestly I have NEVER done before and it seems to be working like a gem along with having my B, L, D and 2 snacks.. I am very happy with my results. It seems the beginning was a bit slow for me but now the weight seems to be coming off more rapidly. And of course I credit that to the weather. The weight seems to melt off my body during the spring/summer...the question is how do I mirror that for the Fall and winter months???

Nylon, just keep counting your calories and doing what your doing now, and the weight will continue to come off. Im like you and i am a big calorie buff, i check the labels on everything and write down what i eat and how many calories i had. I make sure not to go over 1200 a day.
