(I put this in another place, but I think this is where it should probably go)

My dr. put me on it last tuesday so i've been on it exactly one week.
My scales shows that I have lost 5 lbs.

I have been dieting (pretty strict diet) and working out 30 minutes a day.

My friend said it's just water weight, not real weight, and it will come back.

but I don't know how this could be because I have been drinking 5x more water then normal!

She kinda' has me down about it, what do you think?

CONGRATS! It is WEIGHT. It does not return by drinking water. There's a saturation level of the body's tissues that cause it to level out soon after a loss. That's a huge milestone for you and I think it's great.

The sooner you teach yourself new habits and start following the PLAN, the better. Don't want to be back in the same boat next year!

Here's what I tried and it helped me:

Thank you for all the replies! It's odd how people who are 'close' to me can be so unsupportive yet total strangers on the same journey can really lift you up....

One more question, how do I stop weighing myself?!? It's not healthy to weigh myself several times a day but I can't stop!!!

Get rid of the weighing scales in your home and go to the ones in the gym or in a publix. That way, you won't be encouraged to go more than once a day because you would waste gas.
