I know that in order to be successful with my weight loss, I need to drink a lot of water. I understand this perfectly well. My problem is with the fact that I am NOT a good water drinker. This brings me to my question.....are the flavored waters like Propel or Lifewater as good or not? I love the Propel water, but they do contain sodium and calories. Granted, it is low in both areas, but they are still there. I just can't seem to drink the amount of just plain water that I need to, I want a little flavor to my drink. Maybe someday I will get to the point where I can do it, but not yet. I mean, a year ago if you would have put a flavored water in my hand I would have laughed and said no thank you and reached for the Dr. Pepper! So I feel that at least I know it is better than that!! But is it really going to benefit me as much as the plain water?! Help! If I could, I would drink the Propel water all day long, about 12 of the 16.9 oz bottles. Did I mention that they also have antioxidants in them? That has to be a plus doesn't it? Oh the confusion!!! So if any of you have any advice or opinion on this, please let me know. I really am trying to do the right thing and make the right choices. Thanks!

Patty

From what I hear, some of those waters only have under 25 calories per bottle. That would be neglibible, but if they have artificial sweetening, they are not a good long-term solution.

I used to need a boost, too, and would mix a splash of lemon juice in my water, and often a packet of Splenda, too.

I now can drink 1/4 Diet Gingerale and 3/4 water mix when I really crave a soda.
What do y'all think?

hi there my opinion is that no it is not the same cause i drink flavored water and it does not feel the same when i do cause i feel more thirsty! i mean yes it does count as your daily water or fluid intake but pure water flushes away all the toxins in our body which by doing that you are cleaning out all the fat and you know bad stuff! which helps alot with your weightloss!
TRY GETTING A BIG WATER BOTTLE THAT WILL STORE LIKE 60 OZ THEN MAKE SURE YOU FINISH IT BY THE END OF THE DAY ! I HATE WATER WELL BEFORE BUT NOW I DRINK IT ALL DAY IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD BUT I HAD TO GET USE TO IT AND THE ONLY WAY TO DO THAT IS TO DRINK IT TAKES ABOUT A WEEK THEN YOU WILL BE USE TO IT TO!

this is what i do i bought one of those pure filter faucet things installed it myself very easy and i a big glass the only way i will drink it is feel my glass with water and lots of ice then by the sink i have a log where i see how many i drink a day trust me since i can get my water from the faucet i drink so much more then bottles i never finished the bottles for some reason they always got hot fast! so try that and good luck reward yourself everytime you finish 4 glasses get a diet soda or a flavored water for your reward that way 2 times a day you are drinking the beverage of your choice have a great day@!

Good idea!! Our adult daughter suggested a Britta(sp?) filter in a 2 qt pitcher to filter your water, too.

I remember wondering how anyone could drink so much water...until I forced my body to only drink water for a few days. It really turned my feelings about water upside/down~Give it a try!

According to the bottle of Propel flavored water, there are 20 calories per bottle, 0g fat, 150 mg sodium (6% DV), 4g carb (1% DV), 4g sugars, 0g protien, 25% DV of Vitamin E. Percentage of Daily Values based on a 2000 calorie diet. I know that it is not a perfect answer to my problem of not liking regular water, and no offense, it doesn't matter where it comes from, it still doesn't hit the spot for me, I am thinking that until I get myself over to liking straight water, isn't this a better alternative to some of the other options out there? I have been drinking like two bottles of the flavored water to one bottle of regular water. I am getting better, but I just don't like drinking plain water. I know it isn't the perfect solution, but I am thinking that it is far better than filling in with all the other junk out there. And Susan, when you get a real craving for a soda, maybe you ought to try a Diet Rite, you get the flavor of soda with none of the ucky stuff. No caffeine, no carbs, no sodium. They use Splenda in it, and it really isn't too bad. I treat myself with one about once a week. It's not the best answer, but it isn't too bad for an occasional craving of the soda!
