Hi everybody! I posted in the meet & greet section yesterday to introduce myself but just to recap i am new, been on the website and phentramine for about 2 weeks. I've lost 6.4 lbs so far. Anyway i am a little concerned...My sister is graduating college this weekend and we are throwing her a big party. I just started this diet and had pretty good yet still small results this far and i dont want to back track by eating cake and stuff, but at the same time i dont wanna be the only one there not cutting loose and being part of the festivities. Will a piece of cake and some grilled food set me back that far?

Don't let the small stuff get you down here! If you don't feel right eating the things everyone else is eating, just say no thank you and leave it at that. If it is something you really do want to eat...remember portions!! Take a few bites and put it down. I know that is easier said than done, but you can do it! I know that watching every thing you eat is a pain in the patookas, but there just is no other way. Teaching ourselves that we can control what we eat is a hard thing to do, but that is why we are here.

Don't cheat yourself, but don't go overboard either. Follow your heart. And believe it or not, these choices get easier! I would never have guessed it myself, but they really do. I went to the fair the other day and my kids were chowing down an elephant ear, one of my favorite things. I looked at it and decided that it just wasn't worth what it would do to my body. I am working too hard to let that thing get the better of me! lol! I had some serious mind conversation with myself, but I said no thank you and felt really good about it.

Good luck to you! I know it is hard, especially in the beginning, but you will do fine! Like I said, follow your heart, and don't beat yourself up. If you take a few steps back, just take a few more steps forward tomarrow!

Alright thanks guys i feel a little less nervous about it now. I wouldnt have been worried if it wasnt for that fact i just started and havent really lost enough to play around. Ya know luckily sweets, like the cake, arent a big issue for me its so seldom that i eat something like that im not too worried. Of course they dont understand the pills literally make me not hungry at all I have to remind myself to eat so sure they will nag no matter what. lol

I so agree, Pigpen!

It's important to realize that brick houses are built one brick at a time. So are your goals. Get up looking for the power inside you to grow every day!Doesn't seem important now but you will soon see changes~

It might be a nice idea to bring a good friend when you dont trust yourself.

You: Hmm... Tempting food... One bite couldn't hurt...

Friend: FRIEND TO THE RESCUE! KARATE CHOP! *knocks food off your hand*

Well, i doubt your friend would do exactly that. But, as long as you ask for their help and support.... They will help and stop you!

I understand your concern. My grandma, bless her 97 year old heart, just loves to feed me. No matter how many times I tell her that I am dieting or trying to lose weight, she says "oh that's great, dear, have a piece of pie!" lol! It is amazing how often people associate getting together with food. And I never really realized it until I started really changing my eating habits.

Good luck to you! I hope you had a great time!

Oh God i know my mom and grandmother and aunt are that way...you hungry? no i just ate thanks? let me fix you something *confused look* i said no right? lol Never fails they point out my weight problem but then stuff me like a thanksgiving turkey. haha! Well to let ya'll know i did have a very small piece of her cake because of the occasion only but i had busted my butt decorating for the party that day in over 100 degree weather so i figured i had definatly burned alot of calories that day. Plus i made sure i got a piece that didnt have the huge icing flowers or border i scraped it off. I felt good about myself for that. I had one glass of champagne cause of her toast of congrats and the rest of the night i had Propel water. (I'm a dr. pepper addict. & i know reg water is best but when you are drinking like 4 or 5 dr peppers a day at 150+ cal even flavored water is a big improvement)
