I have been wondering if anyone else fears having hanging skin after they lose weight. I am not at that point, but it is in the back of my mind. Is there anything we can do to alleviate this, or is it something we need to live with. What has been your experience or thoughts on this?

Michelle

This is also something that has been hanging out in the back of my mind....but I am trying to do as much toning exercises as I can comfortably do and hope for the best. I think that age will probably add a little bit to this problem, being older my skin isn't as elastic as it used to be, and of course having had three pregnancies very close together is probably stacking the deck against me also!! But I try to do exercises focusing on my abs as much as I can every day...even if I don't do an actual exercise regiment every day, I do try to do some sort of ab exercise. I don't know if it will actually help or not, but I figure it sure can't hurt the project, either! lol!

In the long run, though, I think that I will be happy with losing the weight...extra hanging skin can be disguised fairly easily, and I guess I will just have to look at it as proof of what I have accomplished if it happens! lol!! Honestly, though, I think that if we lose this weight the right way with diet and exercise, we should be okay.

Maybe there are others out there that have experienced this and know of a way to prevent it from happening??? Any and all comments or suggestions would be appreciated!!

Just determine RIGHT NOW to do the BEST you can with what you've got.
Lose toward your goal, exercise daily, no matter how long. If you cannot do, for example, your 30 minute routine, do it for 3 minutes.

Consistency is the key to rising above our challenges. Have some pie or candy you regret?
Don't give up, don't whip yourself; go back to healthy.

Each time you look at yourself, tell yourself how much more happy you are being that much closer to healthy. Loose skin can always be taken off later.

My first 3 posts on this site were directed at finding out if this is a scam or strong suppressant that was named something similar to a very potent weight loss prescription. Now I guess I could be nice and give a bit of my knowledge just in case you are a person with genuine concern.
If you are worried about loose skin think of one thing. Every day make yourself better than the last. Now if having a little loose skin is your concern look at your starting point. Do you look better? How about your health? I mean your concern is merely aesthetic. Also, once your health is in check and you are on a diet that consists of no appetite suppressants nor stimulants designed to lose weight. Then you can begin to slowly invest in a skin removal or tummy tuck to get everything in check. This may not be cheap. But, once you are in good health, the money you save from the supplements alone, plus the increased energy and work ethic usually encumbered by the fitness levels. You will be able to find a way to afford it. And look at the plus side. Most of the time skin tightens on it's own unless you are looking at a 100+lb weight loss. All that saving you brought yourself to do, might be for another cause. Not the original intention.

I have the same worry. I'm 58 (and also from MN). I've lost 40lbs. in 6 months and so far so good with the skin. I have some friends who have had gastric bypass and the lapband, and one thing I've noticed is that the ones who have lost the weight very quickly DO have more loose skin. This might be a coincidence but maybe there's something to it.
