My name is Jess, I'm 22 and from the UK. I started Phentermine yesterday (Sunday 16/11/09) and my aim is to lose 3 stone 11 lbs (53lbs) by February 2010. I have already started with the dry mouth and managed to get about 3-4 hours sleep last night, is this normal?

The good news is I can tell it's already working, I ate about a quarter of my usual Sunday lunch yesterday and couldn't face any dessert :clap:

I currently have no exercise plan in place, do you think I can reallistically lose 53lbs in 11 weeks?

I see all these icons etc. Not sure which to use or how to use them. Anyway, I have been on phentermine for almost three months and I have not lost weight. My psychiatrist prescribed it and I take 15 mg. twice a day. Obviously, this is very disappointing. I have had only 4 binges in the last 90 days which is a great progress for me. On the other 86 days, I have eaten between 1200-1600 calories. I do strength training and aerobic exercise 3x weekly. I drink a lot of fluids.

My doctor prescribed the phentermine to help me overcome the outrageous hunger and weight gain associated with the medication seroquel. It is an atypical anti-psychotic used to help me stabilize the mood swings that I experience with bi-polar/manic depression illness. This class of drugs is known to cause metabolic problems and has the side-effects I earlier described. There are other anti-psychotics in the same class but they all seem to cause the same problems. I have reduced the intake of the seroquel dramatically and am taking the phentermine and doing the things that I have described earlier to achieve weight loss. I am not constipated but I am concerned that the accumulation of this medicine and it's toxicity has inhibited my weight loss and might very well continue to do so. Sometimes, my clothes feel a little loose or I am cheered that I am making improvements with my strength training but I am sad, mad and worried that I am not losing weight. There is no doubt that phentermine is a phenomenal appetite suppressant! and I am enjoying the relief from obsessive hunger. I would have binged much more if I was not taking it. I welcome any insight or advice. Remember, I have to take the medicine that has caused these problems. I am so happy for all of you who are experiencing weight loss and I want to experience it as well.

can someone please post me a link to the products that you use that A) reduce appetite and B)give you more energy - my main concern is to reduce my appetite as i have a terrible time trying to control it.

Your all probably going to roll your eyes and say "its right there!!!!" - but i've had a really bad time recently buying the wrong things and ending up with a few problems because of this, so to have someone (someone real) point out the product they have bought and used and have worked for them would put my mind at complete ease.

I drink about 3 water bottles per day also. I watch what I eat like no fatty food just like sandwiches,salad's ect...

Had my baby.. struggled with breastfeeding and the feeling of always being hungry...and got sick of looking at this huge apron belly that I had from a lot of weight gain with my first son and the two Csections that I had to have them. So in August of 09 I had Surgery to remove it. I lost 10lbs in skin from my belly and another 7 or 8 from lipo that removed some more fat from around my waist...... Now sadly... I am gaining it all back... I guess I love food to much. I also am now living with my Inlaws while I attend medical school and this is a family of BIG eaters...and BIG people... the bigger the better:001_huh:. This doesnt work for me. so I need to stop... and regain control. Today is my new start... a chance to be serious this time and lose the weight again.. not just for me.. but for my family.
