I don't get gittery but I feel more focused and can concentrate more. I also notice I'm not as hungry as when I am not on it. However Phentermine took the hunger away completely!! But I think I like this better. I have actually slept better last night than in previous nights. The good news is that I lost 4 pounds and the bad news is that I don't think it's because of the Phen-D. There were some days I got by with sheer will power! I faithfully took the 2 pills each day, but after a week I can't say they are helping. My starting weight in March was 206. I would go through liters of soda a day, did not exercise and ate what I want. I got tired of being the "fat girl" in the group and being unhealthy so I made changes...LOTS of changes. I started with the soda....gone! Lot's of water, and maybe an occassional can of pepsi once a week or so. I spent 1 hr a day at the gym on the elliptical and by May I got down to 11 lbs. So I asked the doctor for help, because Lord knows I am on a military base, and all the other overweight wives are qualifying for the surgery, but not me. I have to do it "alone". So we talked about phentermine. He had be have the blood work and EKG and we met again yesterday. Found out then I had lost another 7 lbs in the two weeks!! I was so excited! However, I still opted for the med because now I am back in school and time is of the essence!!
So, here I am on day one, with only 15 mg, because he wants to make sure it does not raise my BP, so I go back in two weeks. He also does not want me losing it TOO quickly, as I am losing some on my own without it. But he did say we would up it once my vitals were checked in two weeks.
I am excited, and hoping that this helps. I am tired of being fat and out of shape. I am tired of BEING too tired to play with my girls.
Anyone have any advice? I have altered the lifestyle of eating, watching my caloric intake...drinking lots of water, and now on the med.
