How To Beat The Top 5 Excuses For Not Exercising!

I don't have enough time to workout. Diets are too hard
to stick to. Gyms are too crowded. These are just some
of the most common excuses that you will hear when it
comes to getting in shape. Fortunately for these folks,
there are ways around these roadblocks.

Though these words may sound familiar, maybe even
too familiar, don’t ever let them dictate your quest
for fitness. Rarely have I found an excuse that is
truly insurmountable. There are most always other
options available, and it just depends on how honest
you are with yourself and how valuable your health
is to you.

Lastly, ask yourself this, “If not now, then when?”
We all know that there is no comparison between the
quality of life of one that lives healthily and one
who does not. So, don’t let a silly excuse bind you
to a life of lackluster health.

If you are serious about improving your fitness,

You are absolutely right. More than 70% people give excuses to their own issues, they know very well that they are the only one who help themselves. People only advice but it is the task of the one who need to do that. Its in the hand of a men; how they come out of their problem. So from now try to find out some time for exercises and avoid giving excuses to yourself.

What do you do when you have exercised almost everyday for two years (walking & jogging) but then all of a sudden you can't make yourself do it anymore? I use to would exercise no matter If I was feeling bad, hurting, sick or etc. I can't even make myself do it now. I will for 2 or 3 days in a row and then I'm really tired again. Anybody have this problem? Also I crave junk food (candy bars, cakes, icecream, chips).

I know the feeling snowbaby. I have fought my weight all of my life, generally by going around hungry, and putting myself through grueling routines.

After awhile, a sort of anger sets in -- 'Why do I have to suffer while other people can eat anything they want?' type feeling.

And then comes the day when we just don't put one foot in front of the other.

What works for me is to change what I do. I spent a few years mainly dieting strictly. I spent a few years mainly power walking. And a few years primarily strength training...

Then water aerobics...

And now I'm all into hatha yoga.

Sure, it would be *ideal* to do some of each. But I go from one enthusiasm to another.

Sometimes we can get newly motivated by trying a completely different style of excersize.

You've got to try and switch the things you're doing. After two weeks, any exercise becomes an ability of our bodies and therefore, no longer usable as an exercise.

If you're walking: walk for 5 mins then speed it up for 1 min, slow back down for 5 mins then amp up again for 1 min. It's called interval training and your body can't get used to doing it because YOU can always change the pattern. It's always random. Even walking over a different terrain. If you always do nice paved roads, try a walk across the grass at a park, or sand at the beach (talk about strenuous!)

I LOATHE exercising outdoors (unless I'm on my knees gardening); I have an elliptical in the basement and it always suits the purpose of interval training: 3 minute warm-up at Level 1-2; 5 mins of steady Level 2; 1 minute at Level 8; 3 mins at Level 2; 1 minute Level 10, etc. I try and stay on at least 20 mins, but I've been known to do 30. Definitely twice a week, but if I'm being good...3 times a week.

Snowbaby: if you're into just walking, try doing your regular walk on familiar terrain using "walking lunges". You probably won't feel it while you're doing them, but watch out the next morning: so don't do too many when first starting out.

I've tried absolutely everything...but change is they key. We definitely get tired and bored of the same old stuff.

Good luck; you're not alone.

Here's my problem: I'll go to the gym, drive home right by Mcdonalds and Taco Johns.....too tempting! Next thing I know I'm in the drive through ordering everything on the menu!
