What's the best way to prevent it? I am doing resistance bands and hand weights. I also heard about Nivea Firming Lotion to help with sagging skin. I want to make sure I am not missing anything else I should do, as I am at 30 lbs lost now and I have a LOT more to go. I want to minimize the possibility of sagginess as early as possible. I know some skin elasticity will be genetic, as somewhat depends on age (is early 30's too old and I should accept the inevitable?) and amount of weight lost. I'd really like to hear from people who have lost a significant amount of weight (preferably well over 50 lbs lost) and their experiences. I would hate to lose all this weight, only to be too embarrassed to show any skin. Thanks!

I am in the same boat as you are...I have lost right at 30 lbs and already sagging :( I was told once that water will help to keep the elasticity in your skin, but I dont know that for sure. I sag the worst on my inner thigh. Its embarassing....I want it gone...lol If you learn anything new, please let me know. '

You have done great!! Keep up the good work.

phengirlca: You and I are roughly at the same point, starting weight and current weight. I am noticing the same thing on my inner thighs too. I am not a plastic surgery person, and I know that is an option. Aside from the expense involved, I'm not too keen on surgery that I don't actually need. I'm hoping I can get some more input about it. I see it mainly on my inner thighs and stomach area, though that's from having my daughter. Even at this weight, my stomach was flat until I had her. Now I've got this kangaroo pouch thing going on. Luckily you can't see it with my clothes on.

I did read last night that the sagging skin is related to additional body fat that needs to be eliminated. So by reducing body fat percentage, it will minimize the sagging skin. I don't want to have to live in a gym to achieve it. I'm still looking around for more info on the internet, and I am going to talk to my doctor that gives me the Phen, but I have a feeling he is not going to be able to help me on that, because it's not directly related to the weight I need to lose or my health.

I was also looking at Tonalin CLA and that's supposed to help the abdominal area, and with body fat in general. I got some from GNC last week and I've been doing crunches, so we'll see...

You keep up the good work as well! Whatever I do hear about ways to prevent the sagging, I will be sure to PM you!

I had a nail salon in a exercise club, and there was a lady who had the gastric bypass surgery. In 1 year she lost close to 150 pounds. Its almost a given that after gastric you will have to have the excess skin removed, but she didn't. She was at the give 4-5 days a week. She did the circuit workout (similiar to Curves if you've heard of that) and then also moved up to the Bowflex, which is all about weight training. So going on that, I guess faithful exercise is a great preventive measure! Good Luck!
