Unfortunately, it is a complete misconception to think that doing the same habitual exercises will keep you on the weight loss path. It requires variety and hard work. Here are some options:

Choose a weight that is challenging but do-able and keep breaks to a minimum...

(1) 100 overhead press
100 unweighted squats
100 lat pulldowns, or dumbbell bent over row
100 crunches

(2) 1 minute of step ups
1 minute of dumbbell floor press(essentially a bench press but on the floor instead of a bench)
1 minute of russian twist(sit with legs out straight, take a weight and rotate from side to side while leaning back a little bit, but no overarching of the back!!!)

*Perform 3-5 rounds of each exercise

(3) 25,20,15,10,5 repetitions of:

DB Deadlift
DB squat to an overhead press(aka Thrusters)

The options are limitless, the goal is to elevate the heartrate and exhaust the muscles. You know when you are cheating yourself out of a great workout, but at the same time remember that not all workouts can realistically be performed at 110%. Just try your hardest and take one step at a time!!! Also, be inquisitive. Their are soooo many internet exercise resources so that you and your body will never get bored. Good luck gals

I know some may be skeptical about this BUT I did it 12-14 years or so ago and it really works.

I didn't lose much weight, maybe 6-8 lbs; but the inches fell off consistently.

Victoria morton body wraps - Called Suddenly Slender . The only thing is Body Wraps can be extremely expensive ranging in price from $16.00 to $1199.00.

There was a special on our local news about it and the guy who did the wrap lost 13" the first time. I got a package for Christmas and told my friend who got a package from her hubby also. We both lost each week we went - and didn't gain back that loss for a couple of years. I lost 39" total (overall body) and she lost 53" total.

Back then I was around 180lbs; watched what I ate, walked, ran, biked.

We guarantee that you will lose 6 - 20 inches on your very first wrap, or your next wrap is FREE.

Just a thought for any who want to lose inches and weight isn't the most important thing.

I walk most places so shouldn't be too hard to increase my walking a bit. Thank you for posting.

I know this is W-A-Y off topic, but it came up in my mind as I scrolled down and read about some of you listening to music as you exercise. Music really is a universal language, isn't it? Reaches the soul, speaks our hearts, invigorates, excites, makes connections~Know how close you feel to someone who loves the same songs you do?

Okay! Okay! Back to reading...

I just found this post, and am absolutely obsessive about tummy fat. I cannot stand it! I have found that one of the most effective toning/cardio workouts is bellydancing. I know, it sounds odd, but it works!!! I have been bellydancing for the last 2 months, and have lost 2 inches off my waist and 4 off my hips! I know it doesn't seem like much, but every little bit helps, right? Plus, it's fun, and you will find that muscles you didn't even know you had are sore. Hope this helps some of you! :-)

Heck yeah I believe it Brea - we watched Beyone' and Shakira's video Beautiful Liar and I noticed the belly dancing moves.

I was looking up a couple of other Beyone's videos - she does alot of that in them and look at her waist/stomach WOW! I even commented about that to my husband that she needs to do a belly dancing home video for consumers :P

Beyonce is one of the most beautiful gals, don't you think? I have seen too many younger ladies wanting only a flat belly, but I read a poll that men answered indicating they liked curves, too. Not rolls, but curves.

One of our most successful losers, Sarah, used to tell about her belly dancing classes and how much fun they were! I would love to take a class, too!
