Okay, here is a strange question for everyone who has lost weight!

I have lost 38 lbs in 3 months, and I have a turkey neck kind of thing going on! I lost my double chin but have a little loose skin in my neck. It is not tooo bad, and I notice more than probably anyone else, but.....is there anything to do about it?????

Will it get better, or should I start saving for a neck tuck!!!!

I lost 7.5 inches in my belly and have no excess skin there, but for some dang reason I have it in my stupid neck, so go figure!

Just looking for any suggestions....

Laurie

I've seen an exercise for the neck/jawline. You just take your bottom teeth/jaw and move it as far forward as you can.... and then after that one you bite your teeth together and squeeze your neck muscles....like to make the lines stick out on the sides? I sound so confusing... but if you try it maybe it'll make sense.... it's said to tone up the neck. Good Luck!

Thanks kimber I will give that a try! I also read a little bit today about a micro neck tuck! Maybe down the line, if it doesn't get better!

Sometimes stuff like that will get a little better over time on it's own-give it some time before you resort to going under the knife. It is nice to know you could, though-just in case Lord knows what I would do for a tummy tuck! After having 3 kids in less than 6 years, my tummy is scary!
I think the idea of the neck exercise would probably give you the best results, but you can also try a firming lotion. Get a good one that's designed for facial use. I like stuff that has collagen and elastin in it-those are the two things that occur naturally in your body anyway that give your skin it's resilience and elasticity.

Laurie, many years ago I picked up an exercise from Cosmo heh...it was called something like "Smile and Kiss"

You look up towards the ceiling, and make an exaggerated smile, then purse your lips to kiss. Try it 5 times once a day, and then work it up to 10....or 5 times twice a day.

I pretend I'm making smiles and kisses for those I love who are now in Heaven...though I mostly do it in the bathroom, when no one is looking ;-)

I've seen people that do exercises for their neck muscles and actually tighten up some.... they show them on extreme makeover too.

Ive seen those too Kimber.

The one I know of is similar to these, but you tilt your chin as far back as you can sitting straight up and then lower and raise your chin, like you're trying to hit your neck with your chin.

Have you googled it? might be some others in there too; and the firming lotion is a great tip - I use my facial one on my neck and noticed the lines smoothing out more this month.

(c[__] 3 cheers for aging; I feel it more and more each day past 40 lol)

Laurie, I'm going to give you a straightforward honest answer (that is just my opinion)...Once woman reaches a certain age (and that age varies upon a lot of factors: how long you have really been taking care of yourself, the elasticity of your skin, how much water you drank during before and after your weight loss, genes, sun protection just to name a few) sagging skin is the reality of a more mature woman's skin when losing a significant amount of weight.. Yes, diet and exercise may help -- A BIT... Buying one of those so-called, way-too-expensive skin tone creams that do nothing except give false promises (you know "group thinking" get a bunch of women together to test a product out a couple will see the teeniest bit of improvement even if only psychological the rest will follow suit) But truth be told the only option to get rid of that excess skin (once your body adjusts to your new weight -- I would give it about a year to adjust) is to get it fixed by modern technology --- OH GOD BLESS THE PLASTIC SURGEON!! (once I am done iwth my babies I have already informed my husband that I WILL be getting my little pouch done along with my boob (had a reduction years ago that was botched and the results are horrible and when I go for my tummy my "pups" will be along for the ride too ) Just my two cents...
