Debbie, if you haven't, try resting for a few days. If that doesn't work, then try
Interval training and follow one of the
programs you can find in google, sports medicine or body building etc. Even at my weight and age, I was shocked after not exercising for so long how much I improved in such a short period of time by following some of the guidelines.
I have a separated pelvis and herniated disc in my neck, plus severe female problems and I workout 4-6 times a week with no soreness or lactic acid buildup.
I went from not exercising for awhile to walking/jogging 45 min and from jogging @ 2.0 to 12 min stretches @ 4.0+ in about 5-6 weeks. I did read that it's not extremely important to stretch before, just a warm up but absolutely necessary to stretch afterwards.
If you haven't had a massage...you are missing out!
I want to go back to the dr and say hey can you prescribe me physical therapy again just so I can get a professional massage from the clinic I went to. I had never had one until I was in a car accident; each week would be a different therapist and there is definitely a difference in each person's technique.
For Christmas last year, I bought a massager from Bath & Body works that has little ridges on it and a few bottles of massage oil for my husband...little did he know it was really for me. Cherry & Black currant is wonderful and he offers to massage my back & legs weekly

of course, when I do his back, he's snoring by the time I'm done.
