Does anyone here use a heart rate monitor while they workout?

The treadmill I use is NOT accurate at all, when it comes to my heart rate and the calorie count! I'll be giving it all I've got and it will register something silly like... 65 bpm. Mine isn't that low RESTING!

A couple of nights ago I ordered a Polar F6. It is suppose to keep track of my heart rate, alert me when I'm in my max range, keep track of calories burned, etc. I like the idea of being able to program it with my specific information such as weight, age, etc. I'm really excited about playing with it!!

Anyhow, does anyone use one of these? What make and model? Do you use the features I mentioned? Do you like it?

I love mine! I train for triathalons and Du's and I teach spin. So even in my spin class I wear it. I burn about 550 cals a class teaching spin....But I also keep track of my heart rate while training ......

They seem to be pretty much right on if your age and weight are in there.....for cals that is. It is a smart way to exercise and to really be able to do some interval training which is great for the metoblism!
